Another recent job highlight comes from Madison's West Side, where we had the task of removing three large white pines. Thoughtful planning meant we were able to carefully take apart a fence to use our bucket truck for as much as possible, and working with Madison Gas & Electric to de-energize power lines behind the pines meant we could take a big step to avoid dangerous hazards. With two other climbers high in the canopies, these pines were methodically and safely removed! No matter what access and hazards your yard may throw at us, we are well-equipped to handle it all. At Tree House Arbor, we are always on the lookout for new friends! This flying squirrel was the latest, seen in a dead Birch we removed on Madison's West Side. We are always careful to make sure wildlife is not in danger while working, and this critter glided to a neighboring canopy after saying hi.

Our team of arborists are always getting up to cool things in their communities! Recently, Greg Peterson participated in a Stevens Point bird-banding study, which involved climbing and carefully removing Red-Shouldered Hawk chicks from nests to be banded by a team on the ground from Mill Creek Raptor Research.

All banding, marking, and sampling is being conducted under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S. Geological Survey's Bird Banding Lab

As witnessed by Madison and its surroundings last week, destructive storms and high wind speeds mean vigilance is still needed. Though some warning signs, such as dead branches and limbs, cracks or splits, or leans are easily seen, others may elude even the most eagle-eyed homeowner🕵️‍♀️
