There were the bills to deny preferred pronouns and names, the bills to ban birth record changes, and the bills to deny trans athletes opportunities to compete.

The Pride flag flies once again above the Wisconsin State Capitol.

Today, Governor Tony Evers raised the Pride flag in a tradition that has become both a celebration and a statement: LGBTQ+ Wisconsinites belong, our lives matter, and our communities are woven into the fabric of this state.

As Pride Month begins, the flag stands as a visible reminder of the generations who fought for recognition, the people still fighting for equality today, and the joy, resilience and strength that define our community.

From small towns to big cities, from those who came before us to those just beginning their journey, Pride belongs to all of us.
