The seating chart is one of the most functional pieces of the day, but it still carries the responsibility of design.
This layout was structured first for clarity. Clean columns, intentional spacing, and clear hierarchy allowed guests to find their names quickly without congestion or confusion.
Art Nouveau curves and botanical framing were integrated to maintain visual continuity with the rest of the stationery. The result felt organized without becoming rigid, aligning with the day's overall tone.
Scale and silhouette also played a role. The size ensured visibility from a distance, helping guide guest movement smoothly from the cocktail hour into the reception space.
When done well, a seating chart supports the flow of the event while reinforcing the design story already established.

Customization only matters if it leads to something that truly fits.
Grace and Ian wanted a stationery collection that reflected their perspective, not a version of something that already existed. Every detail, from color to structure to small design decisions, was refined until it aligned with how they envisioned their day.
“The design turned out so, so fabulously. They fit the vision perfectly. The colors were incredible. Our favorite part was definitely the finished product! Guests loved the invitation suite. They felt it really reflected our personalities and was totally unique. We really appreciated the level of customization offered by Sugar Pear Design. We could not have arrived at such incredible final pieces without Kathy’s enthusiasm to iterate, iterate, iterate until they were perfect for us.”
This is the purpose of custom design. Not just variation, but alignment.

Cocktail hour is where design needs to move with the experience.
The bar menu was structured first for clarity. A vertical layout with flowing botanical edges naturally guided the eye, making it easy to read from a distance while maintaining the established design language.
This is where function matters most. Guests interact with these pieces constantly, so readability and placement are just as important as the artwork itself.
The cocktail napkins featured simplified botanical details in coral, reinforcing the Art Nouveau forms without adding visual weight. These smaller elements are subtle, but they contribute to the overall cohesion. Not every detail needs to stand out. It needs to work together.

Vow books are often among the most overlooked pieces of wedding stationery, yet they contain some of the most meaningful words of the day.
The design was intentionally understated. Subtle botanical illustration connects them to the larger suite without competing for attention, allowing the focus to remain on what is written inside.
Not every piece needs to stand out. Some are meant to quietly support the moment, adding continuity while keeping the experience personal and grounded.

This is where stationery moves beyond paper and becomes part of the environment.
Grace and Ian’s ceremony backdrop extended the established design into a large-scale focal point. The same Art Nouveau framing and botanical structure from the invitation suite and welcome sign were translated into a dimensional installation.
The faux-stained-glass effect added depth while maintaining the clean, open feel of the ceremony space. It framed the moment without competing with it.
After the ceremony, it transitioned behind the wedding cake, allowing the design to carry into the reception and remain part of the visual story. This is the value of intentional design. Each element is created to serve more than one moment.
The artwork was developed by me and brought to life through fabrication and installation by , ensuring the scale, materials, and florals worked seamlessly together.

Not every piece needs to match. It needs to relate.
The guest book for Grace and Ian carried the botanical direction forward through a patterned cover that felt connected to the invitation suite without repeating it.
This is where cohesive design is often misunderstood. Exact duplication can feel flat. Instead, each piece should be purpose-built, with shared elements that create visual consistency while allowing variation.
The result is a collection that feels intentional from one piece to the next, without feeling redundant.

Art Nouveau draws from nature through organic forms, flowing lines, and botanical motifs to create a sense of harmony.
This principle guided every design decision for Grace and Ian’s wedding. Their stationery was not built from a template or trend. It was shaped by what they were already drawn to, then translated into a structured, cohesive design language.
From the curves of the invitation framing to the botanical details carried through each piece, the goal was consistency without repetition and refinement without excess.

The welcome sign is where the stationery moves into the space.
For Grace and Ian, this piece carried the design language established in the invitation suite into the ceremony setting. The same Art Nouveau framing, botanical linework, and faux-stained-glass aesthetic were scaled and translated into a physical installation.
This continuity is intentional. Each piece builds on the last, so guests experience a cohesive visual story from the moment they arrive.
This sign also reflects how I approach the design process. Every decision is shaped through collaboration, refining the artwork to align with the couple’s vision while ensuring it works within the environment in which it will live.
Beyond function, the welcome sign anchored the ceremony space and set the tone for what followed. It was also designed with longevity in mind, allowing Grace and Ian to bring it into their home after the wedding.

The welcome booklet extends the invitation experience into the full wedding weekend.
For Grace and Ian’s wedding weekend, this piece served a clear purpose. It welcomed guests to Atlanta, outlined the full timeline from the Friday gathering through the Sunday farewell brunch, and provided a curated list of their favorite restaurants and local attractions.
The design carries forward the Art Nouveau framing and botanical details introduced in the invitation suite, while shifting the focus to clarity and usability. Guests needed to reference this throughout the weekend, so the layout was structured, readable, and easy to navigate.
This is where custom wedding stationery supports the guest experience in a practical way. It ensures guests know where to be, when to arrive, and how to enjoy the time in between.

Why hire a professional wedding stationer?
1. Cohesive wedding branding (not just matching pieces)
💌 A custom stationery designer creates a system, not a collection of disconnected items; everything from invitations to menus to signage works together seamlessly.
2. Strategic design, not guesswork
💌 Every choice—layout, wording, materials, production method—is made with purpose. You’re not left wondering what works or piecing it together yourself.
3. Elevated guest experience
💌 From the moment the invitation arrives to the place setting at dinner, your guests feel the level of intention and care.
4. Access to elevated production methods
💌 Letterpress, foil, embossing, custom die-cuts, handmade papers, these aren’t things you can easily source or execute correctly on your own.
5. Expert guidance on etiquette + wording
💌 No second-guessing timelines, dress codes, invitation wording, or what goes where. I’ll do the heavy lifting and handle it correctly and thoughtfully.
6. Time saved (and stress avoided)
💌 Instead of managing printers, revisions, and logistics, you have a single expert overseeing the entire process.
7. Problem-solving you didn’t know you’d need
💌 Mailing logistics, weight/postage, assembly, international addresses, there are so many details that can go wrong without experience.
8. Custom details that reflect you and not a template
💌 Your wedding isn’t pulled from a catalog. Your stationery shouldn’t be either.
9. Consistency across every touchpoint
💌 Your save-the-dates, invitations, day-of paper goods, and design elements all feel like part of the same story, not separate decisions made at different times.
10. A final result that feels considered and complete
💌 The difference isn’t just how it looks, it’s how intentional everything feels when it’s done right.
