🔥 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2026 🔥
It’s Fire Prevention Week™, and Monrovia Volunteer Fire/Rescue is reminding everyone to charge your devices safely!
Lithium-ion batteries are found in many of the devices we use every day, and a damaged battery can overheat and start a fire. Know the warning signs and stop using your device immediately if you notice:
⚠️ A strange or unusual smell
⚠️ The device feels hot to the touch
⚠️ Popping or unusual noises
⚠️ Changes in the battery’s shape or color
⚠️ Smoke coming from the device
If it is safe to do so, move the device away from anything that can catch fire and keep people away from the area.
🔥 A few seconds of caution can help prevent a serious fire. Make smart choices every time you plug in!

🔥 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2026 🔥
It’s Fire Prevention Week, and Monrovia Volunteer Fire Rescue wants to remind everyone about an important part of fire safety: charge your devices safely! 🔋⚡
📱 Whether it’s your phone, tablet, laptop, or another rechargeable device, always:
✅ Use the cord and charger that came with your device whenever possible.
✅ If replacing a charger, make sure it is approved by the manufacturer.
❌ Avoid using damaged, frayed, or incompatible charging cords and adapters.
⚠️ Using the wrong charger can damage the battery and increase the risk of overheating and fire.
Small safety steps can make a BIG difference in protecting your home, your family, and our community.

Stay safe, Monrovia! 🚒🔥

🚒🔥 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2026 🔥🚒
October is Fire Prevention Month, and Monrovia Volunteer Fire Rescue is proud to team up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10!
⚡🔋 This year’s theme is: “Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.”
Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every dayfrom phones and tablets to e-bikes, scooters, power tools, and more. While these batteries are incredibly useful, improper charging and use can lead to dangerous fires.
This Fire Prevention Week, we’re encouraging everyone to use their charging superpower! 💪⚡ Make smart choices every time you plug in, including using the right charger, following the manufacturer’s instructions, and keeping an eye on devices while they charge.
📅 Fire Prevention Month at Monrovia Volunteer Fire Rescue
We’ll be participating in events throughout the entire month of October as we work to bring fire safety education to our community.
During Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10, keep an eye on our page! We’ll be sharing daily posts focused on this year’s theme, providing important information and simple tips you can use to help prevent lithium-ion battery fires in your home.
Fire prevention starts with all of us. Charge smart. Stay safe. Be a fire safety superpower! ⚡🦸♂️🚒

🚒🏃♂️ MVFR at the Clift Farms Classic! 🏃♀️🚑
This past weekend, Monrovia Volunteer Fire Rescue was proud to provide EMS standby and logistical support for the inaugural Clift Farms Classic 5K & Fun Run!
It was an incredible event filled with great energy and an amazing community turnout. We had a great time being there to support the runners, walkers, families, and organizers while helping ensure everyone had a safe and enjoyable morning.
Events like this are a great reminder of what makes our community so special. We are proud to play a small part in supporting local events and helping our community stay active, healthy, and connected.
A huge thank you to Cameron at Race Ready Events, Erin at Clift Farms, and Madison County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit and Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (HEMSI) without you all the inaugural Clift Farm Classic wouldn’t have been so much of a success. We had a blast and are already looking forward to being back for many more 5Ks and community events in the future!
