Ziang worked super hard over last week’s Thanksgiving week. While most of the team was stuffing their bellies, Ziang was grinding in the electrical room getting BTBs assembled and validated. As a newer member, Ziang has been killing it learning a ton & helping the electrical team blast through their deadlines!

Grateful for the friends, family, and team that keeps us rolling - on track and off. Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍂

Carter did an excellent job on his differential pressure sensor board. He overcame very tight space constraints and managed to make both a functional and visually appealing board. He was also the first member to have his board and BOM ready for our FDR and ordering.

This week has been busy with testing and reviews. Saturday’s test session went well, and we were able to collect a solid set of data to work with. The LV electrical team has also been making progress on the Differential Pressure Sensor Board and the new custom ECU. And as always, there is plenty happening behind the scenes to keep things moving forward! 🏎️🔧

Richard transformed a simple idea into this year’s fully upgraded steering wheel display. Coding it all in C on ESP-IDF and putting in a couple late nights to get it right. The display now boots in seconds and comes with major improvements, and yes, every text is in Comic Sans to remind the driver of the best font.

The last two weeks have been packed with design reviews and testing! Huge shoutout to the chassis team — their reviews went great, and they gained key insights from validating our carbon suspension members. The powertrain team’s been making big moves too, with motor shafts cut to size and sent out for hobbing! Plus, progress on firmware testing, electronics, and some nice mass savings on our uprights. Awesome work all around!

Last week, Jacob went crazy on our controls scheme and on testing data! He got to the bottom of some issues within Traction Control & Torque Vectoring, enabling the car to drive more and us to get more data from it! Nice job, Jacob

Do we love soccer? Yes! Are we good at it? No!
Since we sit in chairs all day, we figured it’d be fun, and healthy, to get out and get active. Some members of the team pitched the idea of an IM soccer team & we got the ball rolling quick!
Special thanks to for making it easy to show off our badger engineer pride!

Earlier this week, Rowan started off the week strong by designing new mounts for the shock pots. He then continued into the weekend with his work by redesigning the preload for the steering rack. Additionally, during his time at the office/shop, he helped the electrical team debug and identify a critical issue that was preventing the car from driving. Rowan’s exceptional attendance and design contributions to the team along with solving drive-critical issues is what earned him his hardcore award. UWMadison
