As Geoffrey Chaucer said in The Canterbury Tales, "People can die of mere imagination." Living Manuscript strives to avoid letting people die of imagination by creating lifelike and immersive atmospheres primarily as 14th century English men at arms, we travel to events to show off techniques in fighting, warfare tactics, and to educate on similar topics.

A work in progress
Started a long time ago, I made a prototype fencing helmet for a fencing friend. You'll find more of it in previous posts, but it is now hurtling uncontrollably into just being a burgonet with a perf visor.
Many more tweaks to come, but just to show you something that is on my workbench :)

Feuding with another sallet-wearer tomorrow, so I threw a quick n dirty plumb holder onto mine! Wish me luck, I will speak more on it (and show the plumb in question) later on!

How it has been hanging!
I am back into some kind of swing of things; I have finally been active in my summer armoring season! These days, I work at a college where I have summers off -a blessing and a curse! Acursed because three months of the year I must fend for myself in some unorthodox ways. But this is a wonderful opportunity to practice my chosen art by fulfilling commissions, building stock for markets in the fall, and performing demonstrations and lectures locally at other schools and libraries.
If you've noticed my dearth of posts, I will summarize the cause as simply "life". It all gets to us eventually. Hardly just because of lamentable and uncontrollable happenings, but because I have had the pleasure of indulging in many fine and fulfilling relationships and experiences. I am happy to live in such moments :)
Anyway, here's a selection of what medieval-related things I've been up to! Skirmishes, tournaments reenactment, cursed swords, learning how to make horsebow fencing masks, mini painting, and perhaps even a return to an old friend, amongother things. Thank you for reading and following me, I'll be around :)
