I've been a copywriter for more than 10 years now & if someone asked me what my "deal" was, I'd say:
๐ copy doesn't have to be pushy to sell.
๐๐ in fact, taking an ethical & considerate approach to marketing fosters a stronger (and more fruitful) sense of community.
๐ alliteration will never NOT tickle my fancy.
๐ the Oxford comma gets a big fat yes from me.
๐ writing about yourself is SUPPOSED to be hard!
๐ you gotta walk the walk AND talk the talk (how else are people supposed to know that you walk the walk?!)
๐ you can absolutely DIY great copy, even if you don't consider yourself a great writer (I make resources to help!!)
๐ the outdoor/nature/tree huggin niche is the best niche for me and I am thriving here.

I launched Anatomy of a Sales Page last week and this is how I feel about it ๐คช
But actually let me just say...
I can FEEL the cobwebs on my website
My backend biz systems aren't very buttoned up
Planning happens one month at a time around here
I'm not sure which services I want to keep offering
BUT I am falling in love with my business all over again right now. And the process of "catching up" after being behind the ball for a bit has been really energizing and freeing.
I'm following the good feelings and staying nimble so I can pivot.
My 2025 roadmap wasn't super rigid, so I built and tested and launched a workbook in April just because (I wanted to, I felt like it, I saw a need, etc.).

Here are some tips to help you tackle these tasks:
1๏ธโฃย Want to write better website copy?
Stop staring at that Google Doc and record a few voice memos to friends, instead. How do you ACTUALLY talk about your biz? Listen back to your voice memos and use your yappinโ style to inform your writing style. Website copy should be exciting and engaging, not cold or stuffy!
2๏ธโฃย Want to write better blog posts?
Use tools like Google Trends and Answer the Public to find out what questions people are asking that YOU know how to answer. Then answer them! Break topics down into bite-sized steps, action items, and anecdotes that educate your target audience and helps them solve their problems.
3๏ธโฃย Want to create your verbal brand identity?
Strip your brand back to the foundation and consider your brand values, target audience, and the personality you want to exude. Start a journal and jot down entries from the perspective of your brandโsee where it takes you! (PsstโฆI also have a blog post called Building a Vibrant Verbal Brand Identity!)

Lush, sunny, vibrant, inspiring, and likely crawling with critters ๐
My bug-themed office has evolved to feature a variety of reptiles and amphibians, too. The more, the merrier!
Office refresh 2.0 (a few months back) saw the introduction of a double craft desk (bye, guest bed!) that makes my space feel even more functional and supportive to my lifestyle.
I now lovingly refer to my office as my hive ๐ฅฐ

I get this question a lot, so let's chat...
๐ COPY persuades and prompts action. It's what turns curious visitors into potential clients. You'll find copy on websites, in email campaigns, and on sales pages where the goal is to drive conversions.
๐ CONTENT educates, informs, and entertains. It builds trust and establishes authority over time. Think blog posts, social media, and newslettersโthe things that nurture your audience and keep them comin back.

Spring is here and I'm defrosting ๐
My brain has been buzzing lately. As I enter a new season, I can't help but wonder (and imagine) what new people, places, and projects I'll uncover in this chapter.
I have big plans to launch something new and unexpected (to me) this year.
I'm cultivating new skillsets as a copywriter, but also as a multi-passionate creative.
I'm shaking off the dust in areas of my biz that I am ready to nurture again!
And while I have said this at the start of nearly EVERY season, and will continue to do so, I just gotta say...I am SO back, baby.
