One of the most memorable ways we continue the Wisconsin Digital Symposium experience is through live graphic recording, one of UWEBC’s signature storytelling elements that turns complex conversations into clear, lasting visual summaries.

Even though we weren’t able to see her in person, we’re still grateful to have Sherrill Knezel bring this work to life. Through her practice with Meaningful Marks LLC, Sherrill partners with organizations across sectors to translate rich dialogue into visual narratives that make insight more accessible and memorable.

This year’s visual summaries highlight two powerful Keynotes from the day: Phil Gilbert’s, Applying Transformation Principles to AI, and Áine Denari’s, AI at the Helm of Marine Innovation. Each illustration captures not only key ideas but also the energy and momentum behind the conversations themselves. See them at https://uwebc.wisc.edu/wisconsin-digital-symposium/

Our Wisconsin Digital Symposium took place this past Monday, and we’re still reflecting on the great conversations and insights from the event. During our second keynote session, we were honored to have Phil Gilbert share his stories and experiences!

Phil Gilbert’s keynote explored one notable idea: the team, not the individual, is the atomic unit of transformation when it comes to embracing digital change. He noted that AI can often become an anti-pattern: a superficially appealing process or solution that seems effective at first but ultimately creates counterproductive consequences. To implement AI effectively, Phil emphasized three primary drivers: teams, alignment, and “glue people”. At the end of his keynote, Phil left the audience with one captivating question: Are your people, your practices, and your places designed to produce outcomes that your competitors — using the same models at the same price — cannot replicate?

A huge thank you to Phil Gilbert for sharing his expertise in digital transformation with our community!

The countdown is on! We have just the weekend left until the Wisconsin Digital Symposium on June 1, and registration is still open.

As we get closer to the event, we’re spotlighting a few of the experiences attendees can look forward to.

Fourth up: The extras.

The Wisconsin Digital Symposium offers more than a full day of insights and discussion. Attendees can also look forward to unique extras that make the experience even more engaging, memorable, and valuable.

We’re excited to collaborate with our campus partner, the Grainger Institute for Engineering, to welcome back Boston Dynamics’ quadruped robots. Attendees will have the opportunity to see and interact with the robots and learn how this technology is helping shape the future of manufacturing and digital integration.

Live graphic recording, a signature element of UWEBC events, will capture key ideas from the program in real time through visual storytelling. This year’s recording will be brought to life by Sherrill Knezel, whose work helps turn complex conversations into clear, engaging visuals that attendees can revisit and share.

From 2:00–3:00 p.m., attendees will have dedicated executive networking time to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and continue the conversations sparked throughout the symposium.

Finally, every registered attendee will receive a complimentary copy of Phil’s book, Irresistible Change, extending the learning beyond the event.
