Google just made it official - search as you know it is over. 🔍➡️🤖

At Google I/O this week, they announced the biggest change to search in 25+ years. The traditional search box is being replaced with an AI-powered conversation. No more scrolling through blue links. Just AI answers.

I've been talking about this shift for the past year, and I've been building it into every website and SEO strategy I touch. It's called GEO - Generative Engine Optimization - and it's how your business gets cited by AI tools like ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity when someone searches for what you do.

Here's the stat that should wake you up: AI search tools currently recommend only about 1.2% of local businesses. The other 98.8% are invisible.

That gap is the opportunity. And it's still open, but not for long.

I have a business degree, but social media wasn't part of the curriculum - aka I am old, I guess. I've had multiple businesses over the years because I genuinely can't help myself. I was raised in an entrepreneurial family, so honestly, that's all I know.

I'm also a mom, I'm based right here in Madison, AL, and I care deeply about the people I work with, probably more than is professionally recommended.

The web design path found me through my own frustration. I kept trying to build websites for my own businesses, and they either looked terrible, cost a fortune, or looked great and... did absolutely nothing. No leads. No return. Just vibes. (not the good kind)

When I discovered Showit, something clicked. Here was a platform where I could actually create something beautiful, because creativity and art have always been part of who I am, and it could actually function like a real business tool. I fell in love immediately.
