Fading

Words fade fast.
Skills disappear.
Memories fade.

I knew it would happen,
But it came too soon.
I thought I had more time.

I should consider myself blessed,
But I am scared.
I see my fate.

A chair with wheels,
A life gone,
Mourning the me I can no longer be.

You watch my light flicker.
Slowly, it fades,
Threatening to go dark.

I am sorry.
This isn’t what I wanted to be.
This isn’t what you agreed to.

My scars are hidden,
Speckled through the most important parts of me,
The parts I cherished most.

God, have pity on me.
I tried so hard to be good.
Please tell me you saw it.
Please tell me you forgive me.

I am a shell of who I used to be.
Is this all I can be now?
Is this my life?
