Happy Pride Month. 🌈

As a q***r wedding photographer, Pride Month always carries a special weight for me.

Every time I photograph two people standing hand in hand, promising forever, I think about the countless gay and le***an people who came before us. The people who loved openly when it was dangerous.
The activists who marched, protested, organized, and refused to disappear. The couples who fought legal battles for decades so that future generations could have the right to marry the person they love.

Their courage built the world many of us get to live in today.

When I photograph a q***r wedding, I am documenting more than a celebration. I am witnessing something that generations were denied. Every first dance, every exchanged vow, every tearful embrace is part of a larger story of resilience, resistance, and love.
While we celebrate, we also recognize that many LGBTQ+ people still face discrimination, injustice, and barriers simply for being who they are. Pride is both a celebration and a call to continue pushing for equality.

This month, I'm grateful for those who paved the way, those still fighting, and every couple who trusts me to tell their story.

Love is powerful. Love is worth protecting. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

This one felt like tagging along on the best kind of afternoon date.

We wandered through the city streets, chasing pockets of light, ducking into little corners, and laughing almost the entire time. These two have the kind of love that feels wonderfully unfiltered. Quirky, playful, endlessly comfortable with each other. The kind of couple who can turn a crosswalk into a dance floor and a random alley into their own private comedy show.

Engagement sessions like this are my favorite kind of storytelling: imperfect, joyful, windswept, and completely alive.

All you need in the world is love and laughter. That's all anybody needs. To have love in one hand and laughter in the other.
It's been a year since we spent an afternoon frolicking in the flowers and laughing the whole time.

I’ve photographed a lot of couples and I’ve third-wheeled love stories of all kinds.

But this one? This one hits different.

I got to shoot my sister’s engagement photos, and I’m just gonna say it… I might be a tiny bit biased, but they could be my favorite couple I’ve ever photographed. (Professionally, I’m supposed to be neutral. Emotionally, I am absolutely not.)

There’s something surreal about watching your little sister find her person. And him, he matches her quirky demeanor and the photos show how happy they both are in each other's presence.

So yeah, I’ll admit it. Out of all the beautiful couples I’ve had the honor of capturing… these two might be my favorite.

Below freezing temps, frozen fingers, and rosy noses… and somehow none of that mattered. ❄️⛸️🎅

This past weekend I had the absolute honor of capturing moments at Make-A-Wish Wisconsin Skating with Santa event, and despite the cold that settled deep into our bones, the warmth of the day was undeniable. Kids laughing as they clung to skate helpers, families bundled together on the ice, and Santa himself gliding around spreading joy. It was one of those reminders that community has its own kind of heat.

Being able to use my camera in service of something good is a gift I never take lightly. These are the moments that matter. The ones that remind me why I do what I do. Grateful to be part of an event that brings joy, gives back, and proves that even on the coldest days, kindness shows up loud and clear.
