Has this ever popped into your head?

Or is this the unspoken expectation you put on your assistant coaches?

"If I'm seen more in the office it will show I'm a better coach."

"If I make one more recruiting call after hours it shows I want it more."

"I need to always be doing something or I'll be a step behind."

🚨WARNING🚨: It doesn't have to be this way.

Double tap if you agree.

I hate to say it, but I’ve seen coaches, who are great people, get stuck in a rut with their leadership.

It’s actually more common than not.

They find a system that works, usually what they learned from their own coach, and stick with it.

No matter the type of student-athletes on the team, the outcome of the season, or the culture of the program.

And instead of refining that system from year to year, to adapt and grow, they continue to turn to new training programs, equipment, or another coaching certification course.

Instead of always looking to fix external factors, why not focus on rebuilding the internal foundation of your program. And take a look at the changes YOU can make.

This is exactly what you get when you join me for the Build Your Systems Strategy: A Workshop For Sport Leaders!

It will focus on:

✔Taking an honest hard look at how you have managed your program up until now
✔Creating systems & processes you and your staff can maintain within the task management tool ClickUp

This workshop is for you if you:
1. Are rebuilding your program and have started to see glimpses of a promising future
2. Love working with student-athletes & your staff, but not thrilled to do admin tasks
3. Want to be organized, but systems don’t come naturally to you
4. Want to stop being the bottleneck so your program can grow
5. Are ready to start empowering your coaches by delegating more responsibilities
6. Are looking to implement solid systems that will support better communication and cohesion within your staff
7. You want to be known for helping the next generation of coaches
8. Are looking to network with other sport leaders outside your program, school, or sport, who share the same challenges and wins, and can bring a new perspective

Curious? Save this for later for when registration opens on Monday May 2nd. And get $100 off by using the promo, EARLY100, between May 2nd - May 7th.

And I'm here to answer any questions.

🔔 Be the leader your coaching staff wants 🔔

Cultivating team culture starts with how you're leading your coaching staff.

If that's not in place there will be no foundation to support the team.

And it's important to remember it's not a one time thing that happens at the start of each new season. It's ongoing.

Here are a few questions that will help you reflect on the staff culture you're creating:

👉 How can I improve when it comes to leading myself?
👉 How am I showing up for my coaches?
👉 How can I support my coaches better?
👉 How can I bring out the best in my coaching staff?
👉 Am I helping my coaches progress in their coaching career?

Let me know if this struck a cord with my by liking this post ❤.

Cheers!

In case we haven't met yet . . .
Hey! I’m Dusty Mattison, former DI Collegiate Student-Athlete & Rowing Coach at the University of Wisconsin. I’m slightly obsessed with figuring out the best systems to put into place so coaches can transform their program from reactive to proactive, closed off to collaborative, and stagnant to inspiring. All while keeping in mind the vision to leave a lasting legacy.

I help identify the roadblocks in systems for coaches and their staff who are ready to bring their program to the next level and are willing to try new ways of doing things. I do that through the process of evaluating current systems, extracting what’s working and not working, envisioning the culture you look to cultivate and the systems to support it, executing the implementation of new systems, and evolving those systems as needs change.

⏱It’s time to think outside the box⏱

In the world of collegiate coaching overwhelm is just the norm.

Something that coaches rarely talk about out in the open. Or feel they can express without being seen as weak and incapable of doing their job.

And when there’s a lack of support and resources the overwhelm just gets exacerbated.

I’m concerned that if a change doesn’t happen, young coaches are going to decide it’s not worth it and will take their talents to a different industry.

What do you think?

Is a change needed?

Let me know in the comments.

😬 = Yes, a change is needed
👌 = Everything is good, keep on
