He’s only about a year and a half old and weighs around 50 pounds, but somehow he’s already learned that the world can be a little uncertain. When you first meet him, he’s politely shy. He’s the kind of dog who waits to make sure you’re kind before giving you his heart.

And then…

He decides you’re safe.

That’s when the tail starts wagging. That’s when he leans against you for comfort. That’s when those soulful eyes look at you like you’ve been best friends forever.

Petey isn’t the dog demanding to be the center of attention.

He’s the one quietly waiting, hoping someone notices that he’s been the best boy all along.

This sweet boy has spent far too much of his summer going back and forth to the vet. He is now approaching his second week of receiving daily injections to finally resolve an ongoing medical issue.

Tuxedo’s care alone has totaled around $1,000 this summer, and his current bill is another $300+. With several other shelter cats also needing veterinary care, every donation—no matter the amount—would make a tremendous difference.
