Thelma Ross, better known as “T-Lady,” was one of the first Mercer employees to work in the Connell Student Center — and perhaps one of the longest serving in the building. She started as a counter girl at the snack bar, eventually moving to work an information booth that became known as “T’s Corner.”

As one of the most popular and recognizable figures on campus, T-Lady provided University-related information to students, visitors, faculty and staff, as well advice and a listening ear to homesick students. Though she didn’t have any children, she loved Mercer students like her own.
