G.D.D.I. is a girls group mentoring and youth development program based in Macon, Georgia. We always value the youth, families and organizations we serve.
Girls Dig Deeper Initiative is a girls group mentoring and youth development program. We provide year-round comprehensive and evidence-based programming and summer enrichment to middle and high school youth girls ages 13-17. Our mission is to foster guidance, support and encouragement to youth girls to DIG DEEP within themselves to access their inner potential and expand their capacity to be a positive influence to themselves and others. Organizational Core Values G.I.R.L.S.
• We believe our youth girls need GRIT to navigate the setbacks and obstacles that hinders progress and achievement in their daily lives. We want them to see setbacks and failures as an opportunity for growth and success.
• We value INTEGRITY as a habit. We are in the “drivers’ seat” of our lives so we must take full control as we proceed through the ups and downs of life, taking responsibility for our actions and holding ourselves accountable.
• We build and maintain positive and healthy RELATIONSHIPS with youth and families in schools, homes, communities and organizations. We encourage our youth to establish positive behaviors and relationships with others.
• The key to leadership is to LEAD with love. We believe in building a leadership culture where our youth, staff, volunteers and families feel cared for, loved and respected.
• SERVICE is an essential part of our organization. We will help them grow and develop by adding tremendous value to their lives. Organization Focus Our goal is to provide mentorship and positive youth development to champion youth girls through the stages of adolescence into adulthood. Our areas of focus are leadership development and personal growth. Our vision is for each girl to go beyond their limits to maximize their full potential to achieve success and a bright future. Mental wellbeing is a state of thriving. It is the foundation of living a strong, healthy and fulfilling life. We believe that mental wellbeing is achievable for everyone — including individuals living with or recovering from a mental health or substance use challenge.
Mental health is essential to overall wellbeing, yet millions of people still face barriers to care. In the U.S. alone, nearly 30 million people lack access to the mental health and substance use treatment they need. These aren’t just numbers — they’re our neighbors, coworkers, friends and family. The impact goes beyond individuals, touching workplaces, schools and communities.
Consider these statistics:
1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year.
1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year.
1 in 20 U.S. adults experience serious mental illness each year.
50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, and 75% by age 24
Su***de is the second-leading cause of death among people aged 10-14.
Mental health is not just a personal concern it’s a shared responsibility.
At Girls Dig Deeper Initiative, we provide mental health programming to our girls because we believe it is necessary for them as they are navigating adolescence, families and their communities. When we prioritize mental wellbeing, we create healthier workplaces, reduce social and economic costs, and foster a society where everyone can thrive. Mental well being helps our youth and communities navigate life’s challenges with strength and hope.
Today, Girls Dig Deeper Initiative completed our 2nd time certification on Youth Mental Health First Aid on World Mental Health Day❤️This teaches us to know how to respond to someone facing a mental health, substance use challenge or crisis.
Special thanks to National Council for Mental Wellbeing for making mental well being a reality for everyone, everywhere!
💔 Macon-Bibb, our hearts are heavy.
We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the tragic shooting that occurred in our community last night, leaving multiple teenagers injured. We are sending prayers 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 up for every young person and family affected, those receiving medical care, and everyone carrying the emotional weight of what happened.
At Girls Dig Deeper Initiative, want our communities to know that we are here. We are here for our girls. We are here for our families. We are here for our community in every way we can!
Our mission is to create spaces where young people can talk, heal, be heard, feel supported, and know that their lives and futures matter. Moments like this remind us why the work we do is so important. 👆🏾
We must continue to DIG DEEP into the minds, hearts, hopes and challenges of our youth! As a community we CANNOT give up our youth. At Girls Dig Deeper Initiative, we will continue to let LOVE be the foundation and framework of everything we do 💕💕💕💕💕

Girls Dig Deeper Initiative Inc. had a successful 2026 summer learning experience and now we are gearing up for our mentorship and leadership program for the 2026-2027 academic school year. We are having an informational session for parents and teens to learn more about our organization and programs. Girls Dig Deeper Initiative serve teen girls ages 13-17.

September is National Su***de Awareness Month. Girls Dig Deeper Initiative understands that recognizing the signs of su***de risk in young people can save lives.
As an organization, we want to support our girls in every way. We want to continue to learn the warning signs and encourage our girls that if they notice any signs within themselves or others, it's important to take them seriously.

Youth that are showing worrisome changes in behavior, particularly in combination with the warning signs below will also include significant:
❗️Withdrawal from or changing social connections/situations
❗️Changes in sleep
❗️Anger or hostility that seems out of character or out of context.
❗️Recent increased agitation or irritability

What is ⁉️
Help is always three digits away! We are helping to raise awareness about the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and promote accessible mental health support. This year's theme, "988 Reasons: Your reason is reason enough," is a reminder that you don't have to be in crisis to reach out. Whatever you're facing - big or small - your reason for seeking support is reason enough. 
Girls Dig Deeper Initiative serves middle and high school girls ages 13-17. We understand teen girls are facing a lot in their personal lives and we want to continue to provide spaces where the girls are heard, feel valued, supported and cared for.

Girls Dig Deeper Initiative is partnered with Southwest Zone Schools to provide mentoring and coaching services. This resource fair was designed to connect parents and families with valuable school, community, and family resources!
