Happy Pride Month! Mercer University Libraries wishes all Bears celebrating Pride a joyful and colorful month!

Pride originally began as a way to commerate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, with the first pride parade being held in 1970 on the one-year anniversary. Today is Memorial Day, a day for remembering the brave men and women who lost their lives serving our country. We especially remember all the Mercerians who made the ultimate sacrifice. The December 1945 issue of the Mercerian included a list of Mercer men who gave their lives in World War II.

This Throwback Thursday we are throwing it back to the time Mercer moved a house across campus. In June 1999, Mercer moved the home of long-time Mercer employees Howard and Gladys Giddens from the corner of Edgewood Avenue and Adams Street to the corner of College Street and Elm Street to make room for the construction of the Greek village.
