Meridian-Macon FFA Chapter

Forestry CDE was held at Monticello’s 4-H camp ground on September 15. We had 5 high school members and 1 middle school member in attendance.

From the section Drew S and Chase S placed in the top 10. Drake T placed 2nd as an individual in MS division.

The team received 2nd overall for HS.

They had fun doing activities such as timber cruising, compass reading, mapping, equipment ID, and Tree ID.

Ever think about being a chaos coordinator..cough cough…I mean FFA Advisor? Maybe you have a passion for education and agriculture?

We are so lucky to have two students who are passionate about becoming ag teachers. Pacyn H pictured below attended Elite Conference which helps students find their cohorts, learn about what Ag Education is all about. Celia R attended two years in a row and said she would love to go back if they let her!

Celia and Pacyn also competed in the Ag Ed CDE where they had to make a 10 minute activity along with a lesson plan. After creating all the resources students then taught their lesson to students and did a reflection on their lesson.

This summer was full of leadership building, team bonding and getting our hands a little dirty!

Pictured below are pictures from our FFA leadership camp, State Convention, Community Reunion breakfast after Tornado in Blue Mound, Golf outing, and Officer Retreat.

Special shout out to Katelyn Clapp who walked the stage at State Convention to receive her State Degree. We are all very proud of her this is a great accomplishment.

We are having difficulties with our Facebook account syncing with our instagram account. Post in Facebook may be delayed.
