Mr. Vickery’s Intro to Ag classes are ending the year out in the shop. Each class built an Adirondack Chair as a group. This project followed their individual wood working projects which were toolboxes for each student. Mr. Vickery is beyond impressed of what these kids can accomplish when they put their mind to it!

On April 17, middle schoolers went to Lincoln Land for the Middle School Conference. It was hosted by the state officers. This was a great chance to get to know more about leadership opportunities within agriculture.

At the Meridian Awards Program, we had the opportunity to celebrate some incredible students and the support our community continues to show for education and agriculture.

The Meridian-Macon Ag Foundation awarded its very first $1,000 scholarships to Katelyn Clapp and Ashton Hawbaker. It was exciting to see the beginning of what will hopefully become a long tradition of supporting Meridian FFA members and agricultural students.

Additional $1,000 scholarships were also awarded in honor of Tom Ritter and Eric Brown through the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation. Congratulations to Kameron Marksberry and Julia Meisenhelter on receiving those honors. We were also told these scholarships are expected to continue for the next ten years, which is an amazing investment in future students.

A huge thank you to the anonymous donor, the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation, and everyone involved with the Meridian-Macon Ag Foundation for believing in students and supporting opportunities for our future.

Congratulations as well to Katelyn and Grace for earning numerous scholarships throughout the evening. It was great seeing so many Meridian students recognized for their hard work and accomplishments.

On April 28, our chapter attended the Section 16 Banquet and ceremony. It was an awesome opportunity to see our sections accomplishments and welcome in the new officers that will represent our chapter next year.

On April 12, we had our annual banquet. We celebrated accomplishments, awards, and participation. Thank you to Angelo’s for catering our meal!

Did you know that the FFA helps with the Jubilee Garden in Blue Mound? On April 6, FFA and community members got together to stain the planter boxes.

On April 8th, Celia Ritter and Aurelia Atwater represented our chapter at section elections at Richland. Congrats to the new officers!

On April 23rd, Any Conder, Killian Wiseman, Neaveh Woods, Kellen McGuire, and Cam Long competed as a team at quizbowl at Richland. They spent weeks practicing FFA history and knowledge. They placed 2nd overall. Congrats to Amy Conder who got 4th top individual.
