Our pups did amazing at our meeting Sunday! We saw lots of mannequins and statues and these pups were super brave!!

With kicking off, we want to remind our followers of some important firework safety tips to keep your pets safe.

- Collar, tag & microchip your pet with up-to-date contact info
- Exercise your pet
- Feed your pet 1-2 hours before fireworks start
- Leave pets at home in a safe, quiet space
- Provide distractions, such as a toy or frozen treat
- Secure your fences and exit doors
- Keep party/picnic food out of pets' reach
- Be aware of warm weather hazards
- Clean up firework debris

More pets go missing on fourth of July weekend than any other time of the year, and it is also important to remember that fireworks not only negatively affect dogs, they also pose problems for those with PTSD.

At our sister organization, America's VetDogs, we are dedicated to helping our veterans, and first responder's alleviate their symptoms of PTSD. Please consider the members of your community while you celebrate this weekend.
