Our mission is to revitalize communities through its people and places. Through these efforts, we serve over 2,000 people each year.

Centerboard is a community-based organization that supports families and young people through housing, access to employment, education and financial empowerment. We work with local residents, businesses, and elected officials to increase economic opportunity in the community. In addition, Centerboard is invested in Lynn’s creative economy by spearheading public art projects and running the non-profit gallery Visionspace. We believe communities thrive when you invest in people and places.

Meet Kearra Wright, Centerboard’s Program Director of We Rise ✨

Our June Spotlight, Kearra Wright has been with Centerboard for nearly four years. She worked her way up through Case Manager and Assistant Director roles before becoming Program Director of We Rise in March 2026 ❤️

⬇️ Check out her interview below ⬇️

✨ Most fulfilling part of your role?
“The most fulfilling part for me is being a support for youth. I love connecting with them and being that person they can come to when they feel like they have no one. That connection means everything to me, and I love being that person for them.”

💡 Biggest lesson learned about yourself?
“I’ve learned just how strong I am. In my own life, I’ve experienced a lot, and working here has shown me that there are youth who go through unimaginable situations. Being able to listen, support them, and continue showing up every day has taught me that you don’t realize your strength until you’re in a position where others are counting on you to help guide them.”

🌍 What inspired you to work for Centerboard?
“I come from a household with a lot of kids, and I’ve seen the impact of addiction and trafficking within my own family. My mom adopted her sister’s children because of addiction, and from a young age I became someone others relied on for support. Even while dealing with my own challenges, I’ve always had a passion for helping people. That passion is what brought me to this work and continues to motivate me every day.”

💥 Fun fact about yourself?
“One of my favorite things to do is spend time at home with my children. I love being present for them and making memories together. A fun fact about me is that I have four children—three girls and one boy—who are 17, 15, 13, and 12 years old!” ❤️

💫 Advice to someone looking to better their life?
“It may not feel like it in the moment, but there are supports out there that can help you get to a better place. Many young people don’t realize the support that’s right in front of them, whether it’s at school, through a doctor, or through the court system. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.” 💫

During Mental Health Awareness Month in May 💚, Dymond and Kiana were proud to attend an outreach event at Lynn English High School focused on raising awareness, building connections and supporting youth mental health 🧠✨

At LFRC, we know that mental health plays an important role in the well-being of the youth and families we serve every day. Events like these help create open conversations and connect individuals with valuable resources and services 🤝🌱

We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to prioritize mental health awareness and support for our youth!
