The good Lord blessed us with enough sunshine last week in between rains to make some beautiful hay.

Good luck to the Caldwell County kids that validated their steers and heifers to compete at the major shows this upcoming year! So much hard work and dedication goes into these projects.

Our staff attended the Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certification training at 2 Bar C Ranch this weekend. BQA reinforces the practices that we strive for daily in Beef Safety, Product Quality, Environmental Stewardship & Animal Well-Being. (You can also get certified online...link is in the comments.) Thank you to the partners that support BQA: Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Beef Checkoff, Beef Loving Texans, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association

Be watchful and in the know! ๐Ÿง

With today's confirmed detection of a New World Screwworm (NWS) fly in a 3 week old calf in Zavala County, Texas , the livestock industry faces a new challenge. But it is not an unfamiliar one. We successfully eradicated New World Screwworm from the United States through grit, cooperation, and science. Those same strengths remain in place today.

Now is the time to stay calm, stay informed, and focus on practical solutions - not rumors. Together, producers, livestock markets, veterinarians, and animal health officials can meet this challenge just as previous generations did.

The cattle industry has overcome difficult obstacles before, and it will again!!
