Science Appliance is looking for an experienced appliance repair technician to join our team.

While we love developing new talent and investing in training, our current workload requires a technician who can step into the field and work independently from day one.

✅ Minimum 2 years of appliance repair experience required
✅ Ability to diagnose and repair kitchen and laundry appliances independently
✅ Experience with major brands such as Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, & Electrolux
✅ Company vehicle provided
✅ Competitive pay + commission
✅ Paid holidays
✅ Monday-Friday schedule

🎉 11 Years of Science Appliance 🎉

Eleven years ago, we took a leap of faith.

What started with one technician and a lot of determination has grown into something we never could have imagined. Along the way, we've had the privilege of serving thousands of families across the South Plains, building an incredible team, winning awards, and making lifelong friends.

This year has been a little bit of everything. We've celebrated major milestones, faced unexpected challenges, welcomed new opportunities, and said goodbye to people who helped shape our story. There have been long days, late nights, lessons learned, and more than a few surprises, but through it all, we've continued to grow, adapt, and move forward.

Today, we're not celebrating perfection. We're celebrating persistence.

To every customer who trusted us with their home, every employee who has worn a Science Appliance shirt, every business partner, vendor, friend, and supporter—thank you. You helped make these 11 years possible.

We're incredibly grateful for how far we've come, and we're excited about what's ahead.

Today was Tim’s last day with Science Appliance, and it’s hard to put into words what the last 7 years have meant to us. 💙

Tim has been more than just an incredible Appliantist — he’s been part of the foundation of this company. Our very first employee. From taking care of customers like family, to helping train new technicians, to being someone we could always count on, he’s left a mark on this business that won’t be forgotten.

At the end of the day, companies are built by people, and Tim has been a huge part of what made Science Appliance what it is today.

We’re incredibly grateful for the years, the loyalty, the laughs, and the countless appliances brought back to life along the way. We’re all going to miss him greatly.

Every now and then, we get a reminder of just how incredible our community is, and this week, our hearts are full.

A wonderful local nurse (and amazing mom!) reached out to us after seeing Tim’s GoFundMe following the house fire. Her family wanted to do something special to help brighten his day, so she and her kiddos put together the ultimate care basket packed with some of Tim’s favorite things.

Moments like this remind us that community is so much bigger than business. To this incredible mom and her kids — thank you for your kindness, for raising such thoughtful children, and for showing us what community spirit looks like. It truly meant the world to all of us, and especially to Tim. 💙🧡

Science Appliance was honored as the “2026 Blue-Collar Small Business of the Year” by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Representing a region that encompasses 95 counties across Texas, including West Texas and the Panhandle, the award also included recognition from the Texas House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.

As a small family-owned business from Lubbock, this kind of national recognition is honestly surreal. Small businesses and trade industries are often overlooked, despite being the people keeping homes, businesses, and communities running every single day.

While recognition is appreciated, what matters most to us is continuing to advocate for small businesses, skilled trades, and working-class industries that deserve more support, visibility, and respect.

We’ll continue pushing for higher standards in the trades, investing in our community, and proving that blue-collar businesses belong in these conversations too.

Our team had the honor of serving lunch RMHC of the Southwest this week.

​Beyond the kitchen, we were also able to repair their laundry facilities so families have one less thing to worry about while focusing on their children’s health. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support an organization that truly defines what it means to care for the community.
