The Autry is a museum dedicated to bringing together the stories of all peoples of the American West, connecting the past with the present to inspire our shared future. The museum presents a wide range of exhibitions and public programs, including lectures, film, theater, festivals, family events, and music, and performs scholarship, research, and educational outreach.

Kick off your summer with the SAG-AFTRA Radio Players here at the Autry! Performers will present old-time radio scripts filled with drama, humor, commercials, and vintage attire. Performers will be reading from radio drama series "Cavalcade of America – Loyal Lady" and comedic science-fiction tale "X Minus One – Chain of Command". Select galleries will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

🏛️ 9 p.m. – Event Ends, Museum Closes

When you visit Life, Liberty, and Los Angeles, explore the stories of the people who and communities who have helped shape LA into the city is is today. Discover the story of the Zoot Suit Riots among other Los Angeles uprisings and how they shaped, and continue to impact the city of Los Angeles today. Life, Liberty, and Los Angeles is now open through January 31, 2027.

This dress was worn by Janet Sherlock Smith, a Mormon convert born in Scotland who emigrated to the United States in 1861. After walking across half the continent to Utah, Janet sewed this bodice and skirt for her wedding to Richard Sherlock. The dress was featured in both the How the West Was Won and Empire and Liberty: The Civil War and the West exhibitions.
