Burnham Design

I get a ton of comments about this primary bathroom we did several years ago (it’s mostly dudes who say they love it, which kills me). People get a huge kick out of the pink tile used in combination with terracotta hex floor tile, terrazzo countertops, unlacquered brass fittings, and bleached oak cabinetry. It was a risk showing such an offbeat combo to the homeowners - and they not only got it, they loved it as much as we did. I guess my point is that taking a design risk is almost always worth it. Also make sure you have cool clients, it definitely helps.

This project in the Palisades was inspired by our clients (traditional decor in a home that had modern architecture) and became one of my all-time favorites. So much detail, so many collectibles, along with a range of textiles and color.

We design all kinds of powder rooms: formal, whimsical, classic, humble— and we love em all.
