This community ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The way you all support each other and welcome newcomers even when we run out of chairs, the celebration of life events and finished socks, bonding over swatches that lie and patterns that make us crazy, and your unwavering support of this small business in tough times.
My heart is full. Thank you for being part of this journey of life and yarn 🙏🏻
If you couldn’t make it yesterday for Worldwide Knit in Public Day, please join us for Crafternoon today and every Sunday from 3-5 pm!

Happy Worldwide Knit in Public Day 🥳
Just yesterday, someone commented to me that knitting was kind of a "lost art" - they definitely haven't seen the crowd we draw on Tuesday evenings for Knit Night! One of the great things about knitting and crochet is that it's so portable, and when you bring your projects out and about with you, you bring attention to this centuries-old craft.
So wherever you find yourself today, bring your knitting! We're hosting an extra Crafternoon session today from 3-5 pm, and we'll have cool drinks and treats for you to enjoy. Feel free to bring your own chair, as we sometimes run out - I'd love to see Main Street packed with knitters and crocheters!

I love unusual texture on a simple tee - it’s interesting but not trying too hard to get your attention. And it has to be fun to knit, to make it onto my needles.
Lately I’ve been smitten with Driftwood tee by Birgit Gehl Ostergaard-Jensen, which I’m working in Isager Baby color 6 and Mulberry Silk in Granite. The top is knit from sleeve to sleeve in a combination of single strands and both strands together to create a vertical stripe that looks sort of irregular - the effect is more subtle with low contrast colors like Frost/e0 combination shown in the picture.
We just received all 14 colors of Mulberry Silk plus more Baby and Soft Fine, so you have plenty of yarn and color combinations to explore. We’d love to help you cast on a new tee this weekend, so come visit us in-store, send a message or call the shop (650) 941-1815.
Ranunculus by Midori Hirose is one of the very few patterns I’ve knit more than once. It works with just about any yarn, in any weight, and you can customize it to your own style. And it’s so easy to wear!
If you’ve been thinking about making one for yourself, now is the perfect time: Erin is offering a Ranunculus class on Saturday mornings starting June 27. She’ll help you choose yarn (if you need help) and step you through the various options for design features and sizing. Plus you’ll learn from the rest of the group - it’s always fascinating to see how different yarns work up in the same pattern.
Register online, stop by or give us a call (650) 941-1815. Space is limited.

Have you heard about our Cast On, Unwind subscription box?
My goal in creating this box every quarter is to find a pattern + yarn pairing that is truly enjoyable to make and special to wear. I’ll swatch with different yarns and test different patterns until I find the magic combination that hits the sweet spot of being an interesting knit but not so challenging that it’s no longer restful. Then I have fun finding beautiful, useful notions and gifts to fill out the box.
The latest Cast On, Unwind project was Drifting Dawn by Janina Kallio, knit in Miss Babs Damask. A bias knit scarf already has lovely drape, and the yarn’s silk/linen blend added gorgeous sheen - a simply perfect accessory for summer.
Right now, subscriptions are open for the second half of 2026 - that’s two boxes, delivered in August and November. I’m a big fan of knitting for yourself, but they also make wonderful gifts for your knitting friends. You have enough decisions to make in your daily life, so how about letting us send you a delightful surprise?
Order online or in-store; $160 covers both boxes.

Such a pretty palette for a baby blanket in cheerfully bright colors of Malabrigo Rios!
Rios is a fabulous yarn for baby things - it’s soft, so nice to work with and easy care. Whatever you make is sure to become well-loved favorite ❤️

I believe in beauty for everyday things (not just special occasions) so when I saw these pretty crochet hooks at H&H last month, I knew I had to have them in the shop.
Size E/3.5mm through J/6mm aluminum hooks have a comfortably curved resin handle with dried flowers suspended inside. Such a simple way to brighten up your notions bag and your crochet projects 🌸
Shop online and in-store.

WIP Wednesday: Camomille by SC Knit Studio, knit in Biches & Bûches Petit Lambswool by Erin.
Erin loves how light and soft the Petit Lambswool works up, and it blooms beautifully. The pattern is well-written with 3 size options, and the crochet border is easy even for someone with less experience.
Whether you’re into the kerchief trend or prefer a classic shawl, Erin would be happy to help you get started at her Saturday morning project help class - register online or give us a call at (650) 941-1815.

It’s the first Knit Night of June, and Election Day here in California, so I’ve got two good reasons to bring out the wine and cheese tonight from 6-8 pm.
If you haven’t already voted in person, or mailed your ballot, you can still drop it in an official ballot box. Democracy only works when we all participate!
And Knit Night is a fun place to get your tedious finishing done, like finally adding buttons to the cardigan I finished last month. I’ll save a seat for you…
