These are Nan's chancletas. They have got to be close to 40 years old or older.

Having a Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 grandmother growing up, I've seen these thing defy aeronautical maneuverability and even travel around corners and come back like a boomerang 🪃

Not only myself but hilariously Pop had some close calls that I can remember!

I vividly remember Pop saying - "d*mnit Mary....what the hell is'a matter with you! You're pushing it!"

I remember one time in Puerto Rico (mid 90s) she told Pop no more beer. So Pop told me to grab him one more Medalla out of the fridge. Pop sat back down in the hammock and cracked open that cerveza and Nan pushed open that flimsy loud slamming screen door and engineered a precise throw with the chancleta that knocked that beer outa Pop's hand and all over him.

Meanwhile Kurt and I were sitting there laughing our a** off! I can still hear Kurt laughing with tears in his eyes!

Every day that I would go over Pop's as a kiddo growing up in the early 90s....this is pretty much what I would see each time if he wasn't on the front porch swing.
