Turning 65 soon and still working?
Here's what most people don't know:
If your employer offers health insurance, you may be able to delay Medicare Part B without penalties as long as you have qualifying employer coverage.
The number of employees at your company can affect whether your employer is required to offer coverage, but if they do have a group plan in place, you're generally protected from late enrollment penalties while you're actively covered.
Where it gets tricky:
⚠️ Not all employer plans count as "qualifying coverage" under Medicare's rules
⚠️ COBRA and retiree coverage do NOT protect you from penalties
⚠️ Once your employer coverage ends, you have a limited Special Enrollment Period to sign up, missing it means penalties and gaps.
Every situation is different. Understanding your options before you turn 65 can save you from unexpected costs and permanent penalties.
Not sure what applies to you? A quick Medicare review can help you make an informed decision.

The average group health insurance premium increases 5–8% per year.

Most employers just renew.

Over 5 years, that's a compounding cost increase that never gets questioned, because reviewing it feels like work, and nobody has time for extra work.

A 25-person company paying $6,000/year per employee that never shops their plan could be overpaying by $40,000–$80,000 annually compared to competitive rates in their market.

A broker review takes one meeting. The savings can fund another hire.

We do free group plan reviews for employers in AZ and CA. No obligation, no pressure just the data you need to make an informed decision.

What's the difference between Medicare Advantage and a Medicare Supplement plan?

Here's the short version:
Medicare Advantage (Part C)
- Replaces Original Medicare
- Usually $0 or low monthly premium
- Has networks (HMO or PPO)
- Includes drug coverage in most plans
- Out-of-pocket costs vary by usage

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)
- Works alongside Original Medicare
- Higher monthly premium
- See any doctor that accepts Medicare
- Predictable out-of-pocket costs
- Need separate Part D for drugs

Neither is universally better, it depends entirely on your health, your doctors, and your financial situation.

⏰ Turning 65 soon? There's a deadline you need to know about.
Most people assume Medicare enrollment is automatic. It's not and missing your window can cost you.
Here's what happens if you miss your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP):
🔴 Part B penalty: 10% added to your premium for every 12-month period you were eligible but didn't enroll.
🔴 Part D penalty: 1% of the national base premium for every month without drug coverage.
Your IEP is a 7-month window:
→ 3 months before your 65th birthday
→ Your birthday month
→ 3 months after
Miss it and you wait until General Enrollment (January–March) and pay the penalty for life.
If you or someone you know is turning 65 in the next 6 months, now is the time to act.

If you're on Medicare and you take prescription medications, you need to know about Part D. Medicare Part D is prescription drug coverage. It's not automatic, you have to enroll in it separately.
What most people miss is that if you skip Part D when you're first eligible and enroll later, you may pay a late enrollment penalty for as long as you have Medicare.

The penalty? 1% of the national base premium for every month you went without coverage.
We help clients understand exactly what Part D covers, which plans fit their medications, and how to avoid costly mistakes.

"What's a deductible?"
It's one of the most common questions we get!
Let us explain it to you.
Your deductible is the amount you pay OUT OF POCKET before your insurance starts paying for most services.

Example: If your deductible is $2,000 and you need a $6,000 procedure:
- You pay the first $2,000
- Insurance covers the rest (based on your plan)

Once you hit your deductible, you typically only pay your copay or coinsurance.

Save this for reference!

If you haven't reviewed your health insurance plan this year, you could be leaving money on the table or worse, paying for coverage that no longer fits your life.
Jobs change. Families grow. Premiums go up. Your plan should keep up.
Don't wait until open enrollment is closing to make a move, and switching without guidance can cost you.
We're here RIGHT NOW to review your current plan and show you what better looks like.
