Hit & Run Vehicle vs ped: 5/29/26 23:03 10th street & Alamitos; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a hit-and-run pedestrian vs vehicle collision. The pedestrian was unconscious and barely breathing when LBFD arrived on scene. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with major trauma. Unknown type of vehicle that struck the pedestrian but was last seen northbound Alamitos from location. Streets in the area are blocked off pending outcome at the hospital. Avoid the area.

Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on May 28, 2026, that resulted in the death of a male victim.

On May 28, 2026, at approximately 12:32 p.m., officers responded to the area of Cedar Avenue and Plymouth Street regarding a hit shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with a gunshot wound. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene.

At this time, suspect information, circumstances of the shooting, and motive remain under investigation.

The decedent’s identity is being withheld pending identification and notification of the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner.

Stabbing: 5/28/26 22:38 4500 block California Ave; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a female being stabbed several times in the lower body and extremities. The female is conscious and breathing. The suspect is a male in his 30s to 40s last seen running northbound towards 45th street. Unknown circumstances at this time. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

Traffic collision with police car: 5/27/26 17:50; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a traffic collision involving a police car. LBPD is advising multiple people are hurt including the officers involved. All the streets in the area are blocked. Avoid the area.

No hit shooting: 5/25/26 22:40 1000 Block Roswell Ave; LBPD is on scene of a no hit shooting in the area. The female victim stated the shooter was her ex-boyfriend. The female victim also stated her ex-boyfriend tried to get her in the car, but she didn’t get in, so he shot at her and missed. He shot from his vehicle so he took off after he shot at her. Casings have been recovered at the scene. Unknown circumstances at this time.

Shots fired: 5/25/26 21:03 2600 block East 15th street; LBPD is on scene of shots being fired in the area. The calling party advised they heard three shots and saw three casings in front of their residence, also saw a light colored sedan take off at a high rate of speed WB 15th street. Unknown suspect information.

Triple shooting: 5/24/26 00:13 3200 block Caspian Ave; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a triple shooting in the area. The victims are all conscious and breathing but one victim is in critical condition. The victims advised it was a drive by shooting. LBFD advised this incident is a level 1 MCI. Multiple casings recovered at the scene. Unknown suspect information at this time.

Major Traffic Collision: 5/23/26 23:20 | Alamitos Ave & 11th Street; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a traffic collision with one vehicle overturned. Engine 10 is advising there is one patient trapped. Engine 10 and truck 1 are beginning extrication. Unknown condition of the occupant. LBPD will have the intersection closed for an unknown duration.

Apartment Fire: 5/18/26 21:49 | 800 Block of Redondo Ave; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a three story garden style apartment complex with heavy smoke and fire showing from an upstairs unit. Engine 4 is fire attack, Truck 17 is fire attack, Batallón Chief 1 is incident command. LBPD requested for traffic and crowd control.

Update: 21:55; there is one resident possibly trapped in the involved unit. LBFD making entry.

Update: 21:59; one patient has been recovered from the unit. Paramedics are treating the patient for smoke inhalation. There is no extension to any adjacent units.

Update: 22:01; The fire is knocked down and primary search complete.
