Dalí painted clocks that refuse to obey the second hand. Bill Ward played drums that refused to obey the click track. Two surrealists, one truth: the most powerful moments happen when time bends.
Bill's swing wasn't an accident; it was a gift. That push and pull, that gorgeous breath between the beats, is one of the most organic things ever captured on a rock record. Nobody taught a band to feel heavy and loose at the same time quite like him.
SceneFour raises a glass, and a very unusual cake... to the man whose timing was ALL FEEL, just beautifully, wonderfully his.
