At 0700, the very long 24 hour day finally came to an end for Class 19. Everyone was tired but had a great experience. It gave them a taste of what it is like to work at a busy station for 24 hours. Everyone learned a lot and had a great time. Thanks to all the LifeFlight, instructors, and instructors' families for helping to make this 24 hour day a great success. Now we move on to Rope Rescue!!!
At 0530, recruits were awoken to a fire alarm in their building. They found the alarm panel and then had to find where the pull station was. They reset the pull station and then successfully reset the alarm.

TRAINING EXERCISE ONLY
Engines 1, 2, 3, Ambulance 4, and Squad 5 were called to an active shooter at 0130. Units staged but we're canceled by PD after about 30 minutes. All units went back in service.
The person posting information on the 24 hour day went to bed about 0100 so the rest of these calls are obviously long done and over with.

Ambulance 4 responded to a chest pain. They found, treated, and transported the patient. After they dropped off the patient and came back out to their ambulance, the crew couldn't find their ambulance. They contacted dispatch and Battalion 1. After searching, they found their ambulance across the street. Moral of the story: don't leave your doors open and engine running when unattended at the hospital.

Engines 1, 2, 3, Ambulance 4, Squad 5, and Battalion 1 responded to a propane tank fire. All companies were working. Water was applied to the tank with a deck gun and then the recruits safely approached the tank using methods learned in class to shut off the valve. The recruits were successful and quickly returned to service.

On 9/11, Class 19 carried several American flags on their stair climb. These flags had reached the end of their life and it was the last thing they got to do. Class 19 recruits were able to participate in the proper retirement of these flags tonight. Instructor Peterson led this solemn ceremony.
