A Note to Our Community

We want to share a little about what happens behind the scenes at Street Paws.

Street Paws is an all-volunteer organization. Most of us have full-time jobs, families and pets of our own, while giving our days, evenings, weekends and whatever time we can to make rescue possible.

Every day, we receive calls, texts, emails and online inquiries from people looking for help, trying to rehome a pet, asking about animals in our care and more. The reality is, we simply haven’t been able to respond to every message. The volume of inquiries often exceeds what our volunteer team can manage while also caring for the animals who depend on us.

We wish that weren’t the case. With your help, it could change.

Could you give a few hours a week? A Communications Coordinator volunteer could make a meaningful difference by helping us sort through incoming inquiries, identify requests that need follow-up and connect people with available resources.

Not your thing? There are plenty of other ways to lend a hand. We’re always looking for shelter helpers, event volunteers, help with animal care, transportation and more. Even a few hours of your time can give our team more capacity to help animals and people in our community.

Ready to lend a hand? Submit a volunteer application here:

Thank you for sticking with us, supporting our work and giving us grace along the way. Rescue truly takes a village, and we couldn’t do this without ours. There are animals depending on all of us, and together, we can continue showing up for them when they need us most.

⛈️ STREET PAWS: A 100% CHANCE OF LOVE, LAUGHTER & MUDDY PAWS! 🐾💦
Storm’s sister has found her forever home, but this sweet girl is still waiting for someone to choose her.
Storm is the perfect combination of s***k and sweetness! She loves playing in water, digging in the dirt and “helping” with anything happening outdoors. Need assistance in the garden? Storm will gladly supervise, rearrange the soil and make sure you never work alone! ⁶🌱😂
One of her very best friends is Vader, a handsome black cat. Their special friendship proves that sometimes the most unexpected friendships are the sweetest. 🐕🖤🐈‍⬛
And if you are also looking for a cat, Storm would be absolutely delighted if her BFF Vader could come home with her! If your heart and home have room for two, you could give this adorable dog-and-cat duo the happily-ever-after of their dreams.
Storm is ready to bring fun, affection a8nd plenty of personality to her forever family. Could she be the missing piece in yours?
Please apply to adopt Storm through streetpaws.org and share this post to help her find the loving home she deserves!

A car door closed on this kitten’s head. Now she is blind. 💔

We named her Raspberry.

Last week, a woman came to our door with this little girl and said she had found her. The kitten ran loose through our parking lot. After the woman put her in the car, the door shut on her head.

She was flopping, had blood coming from her nose and mouth, and lost control of her bowels. Her screams were heartbreaking. My volunteer called me and said she thought the kitten was dying.

She survived and spent the past week at Henry County, Georgia Animal Care and Control. We were only able to bring her into our rescue because a foster stepped up.

Our vet at Fairview Animal Hospital saw her today. Her eyes are cloudy, she cannot see, and he believes she may have a hematoma in her brain. For now, we are watching her closely and giving her time to heal. We don’t know whether her sight will return.

Please help us give her the care she needs. Donate here: http://www.streetpaws.org/donate
Any amount helps. If you can’t donate, please share her story. 🐾
