Lockport Horticulture has kindly put their extra plants outside for the community to browse and grab! They can be found at LTHS East Campus outside of door 20, which is the greenhouse around the back. There are some herbs and veggies left, along with a variety of other annuals and perennials!
(Please note, this does NOT include the pallet of soil that is also there - that is already claimed)
The students did an amazing job with these plants! A huge thank you to them and Ms. Martin for offering them to us!

Winter check-in from the Route 66 Garden!
While some of these plants may look dead, they will be back to their vibrant selves within a few months. A few plants, like these serviceberries, are already forming buds! In the meantime, they’ve been providing shelter to local wildlife, like bugs and birds.
Many plants go dormant in the wintertime, slowing down their biological processes and surviving on the fuel they built up during the growing season. They produce their own “antifreeze” to avoid ice damage in their cells, and some types of seeds even require exposure to the cold to help time their germination just right! We’re so excited to see these dormant plants wake up over the coming months!
Bloom Lockport has been in our own winter dormancy as well, preparing for tons of new growth in 2026. We can’t wait to share everything we’re planning for this year, and we hope to see you blooming with us!
