Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale began in the early 1900’s as part of the York Hardware & Furniture Business in downtown Lindale that was owned and operated by M. After the death of Leon “Punk” York, Mr. Caudle acquired the remainder of the business. A new chapel was added to the Furniture Store in downtown Lindale at 109 North Main and this location was used until 1986 when Caudle-Rutledge constructed a new 11,000 sq facility at 206 West South Street. James Rutledge became partner in 1974. In 2000, the building was completely remodeled and an addition to the facility was added. Daugherty started work for Caudle-Rutledge and in 2003 became a partner in the business. Caudle-Rutledge offers complete service in all aspects of funeral service including Pre-paid Funeral Plans, Monuments and Cremation Services. Caudle-Rutledge is proud to be a part of East Texas and the Lindale, Hideaway and Tyler communities and strives to offer the best professional funeral service to all their families.

James Alan Norris passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026. He was 85.
James Alan was born March 2, 1941, in Tyler, Texas, to Jack Norris and Marguerite Wilcox Norris, and had two siblings – one brother, Jerry Dan Norris, and one sister, Judith “Judy” Ann Yarbrough. He grew up in Doyline, LA, before the family moved to Minden, LA, where James Alan was a state champion basketball player at Minden High School.
He studied at Louisiana College in Pineville, LA, where he continued his basketball career and was known as a “playmaker extra-ordinaire,” that gave “maximum effort at all times.” After his graduation from Louisiana College in 1963, he coached basketball and taught chemistry for three years at Byrd High School in Shreveport, LA. In 1967 he began a career with Nalco/Exxon in Sales and Consulting. He retired with Nalco/Exxon after 47 years.
He married Mary Katherine “Mary Kay” Platt Norris Aug. 20, 1960, at Dunlap Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, LA. They enjoyed a 65-year marriage and welcomed four children: Michael Alan (Monica) Norris (Tyler, TX), Kimith Randall Norris (Tyler, TX), Deborah Katherine (William) Coats (Spring Hill, TN) and Casey Dan (Myra) Norris (Tyler, TX). They resided in Tyler, Texas, for over 40 years and attended Marvin Methodist Church, where James Alan enjoyed a weekly Bible study with friends and peers.

Julia McClenny Jarman, 87, of Lindale, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28th. She was born on January 29, 1939, to the late Codia Everett McClenny and Ruby Ilene (Gipson) McClenny.
Julia was a lifelong resident of Lindale and a proud member of the Lindale High School Class of 1957. She was a longtime employee of Lindale Independent School District, where she worked in the administration office. She was known for her dedication to her work and her community.
Julia was a faithful member of South Main Church of Christ. She was also an active member of the Sweet Adelines choral group and the Red Hat Society. She took great pride in her home and garden and was frequently recognized as Yard of the Month by the Lindale Garden Club. Julia enjoyed gardening, reading, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Julia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, John Lewis Jarman; her parents, Codia Everett and Ruby Ilene McClenny; her brothers, Pat McClenny and Tony McClenny; and her sisters-in-law, Shirley McClenny and Linda McClenny.
Julia is survived by her son, John Mac Jarman and his wife, Gina of Lindale, Texas; and her daughter, Wendy Jarman Holder and her husband, Jamie of Hideaway, Texas.

A Celebration of Life for Helen “Honey” Bozeman of Winona will be held at the Winona Methodist Church on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Vickers officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow at Harris Creek Cemetery.
Helen “Honey” Bozeman celebrated her arrival into Heaven on September 28, 2026, at the age of 90. What a celebration it must have been as she was lovingly greeted by her husband of 61 years, Ross “Big Daddy” Bozeman. Together, they begin their heavenly reunion.
To say Honey left her mark on this world during her 90 years would be an understatement. She loved unconditionally and never met a stranger. Honey’s cooking was legendary and her love of cooking was passed down to her daughters, Cindy and Becky. She also enjoyed a little excitement and always had fun trying her luck at the slot machines. Every conversation with Honey was likely to include a special wink of her eye and a joyful chuckle of laughter. Her influence and the love she shared will continue to impact every life she touched.
Honey grew up in the Cedar Springs Community of Falls County, Texas. After graduating from high school, she moved to Rosebud, Texas and eventually made Winona her home. Martha joined her Lord and savior on Saturday, September 26, 2026. She was born February 24, 1938, in Lindale, Texas to the late Elliot Clark Morris and Ruby Inez Goodman Morris. Martha graduated from Lindale High School, class of 1956. After high school she went to college for 2 years. She was employed by Habitat for Humanity Restore in Tyler, Texas for 12 years and at Mea Nursery for 22 years and was a member of the Damascus Church in Lindale, Texas.
Martha spent much of her life loving and mothering her own children and providing care for foster children. When she had free time, she loved to read a good book or work puzzle books. Rowan Everest Bear Roberts, age 2, of Garden Valley, Texas, passed away in the arms of his momma, on Sunday night September 27th, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. Rowan was born on June 3rd, 2024, in Longview, Texas. He spent his life in Garden Valley, Texas. Rowan loved being outdoors, touching trees, splashing in water and listening to birds. He was happiest when he was playing with his big sister Rosa and being silly with his momma. He loved drums, dancing and music - especially when his mom and dad sang to him, and he would sing along. Rowan spent the majority of his life in his favorite spot, snuggled up in mom’s arms. Rowan brought a sweet and pure joy wherever he went and put a smile on the face of everyone who met him. He taught many what resiliency and gratitude through trial really looks like and had a God-given light that shone extra bright since his birth.
Rowan is survived by his devoted parents, Austin and Angela Roberts of Garden Valley; his beloved sister, Rosa Roberts; his grandfather, Hans Kruesi of Garden Valley, Texas; his grandparents, Brad and Stephanie Roberts of Kansas City, MO; and his twelve aunts and nine uncles; as well as many beloved cousins, extended family, and devoted friends who will forever carry his memory with them.

Sarah passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at her home in Lindale. She was born on April 13, 1948, in Tyler, Texas to the late John Hubert and Edna Mary (Peach) Sanders. Sarah was a longtime resident of both Tyler and Dallas, Texas. After retiring she enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. Sarah was preceded in death by her son, Randy Casey and her brothers, Tommy and Kenny Sanders.
She is survived by her sons, Benny Casey and wife, Carol of League City, Texas and Terry Casey also of League City; brothers, Danny Sanders and wife, Cheryl of Tuba City, Arizona and John Sanders of Burleson, Texas; sister, Molly Williams of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Kara, Kurt, Keith, Christopher, and Kyle Casey, Desiree Woods, Christine Daniels, and Christiana Cronin; and numerous great grandchildren and other loving family members and friends. John passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on May 16, 1947, in McKinney, Texas to the late Earl Franklin and Willie Dell (Johnson) Cunningham. John was a proud Frisco C**n attending school there all 12 years. John has lived in Hideaway for the past 42 years and previously lived many places in Texas throughout his career as a DPS officer. While on the force John served as a Narcotics Sergeant and was a Special Texas Ranger. John was a Master Mason and was Past Worshipful Master of the T.R. Bonner Masonic Lodge #764 in Mt. Sylvan, Texas and was also a Shriner and Scottish Rite. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, competitive shooting, motorcycles, the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. Glenda passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at her home in Lindale. She was born on December 5, 1956, to the late Joel McKinnley and Betty Marie (Holt) Hollar. Glenda has lived in Lindale for the past 4 years and was previously a longtime resident of Seagoville. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Mineola and retired from the retail sales industry after many years of service with Dillards and Kohls department stores. In her spare time Glenda enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, spending time with her beloved family and singing southern gospel music. Vernice was a lifelong resident of Lindale where she was a member of Central Baptist Church and retired from Lindale ISD. In her spare time Vernice enjoyed Birdwatching, Gardening, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.D. Judy Evon Dugat Parris, longtime educator and lifelong lover of the written word, passed away on September 5, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. She was 81 years old.
Born on Christmas Eve in 1944 in Baytown, Texas, Judy was the daughter of Edmond Dugat and Tessie Burnitt Dugat and the younger sister of Martha Katherine “Kay” Beaubouef. Her childhood was shaped by family, faith, and the quiet determination that would remain with her throughout her life.
Judy’s love of words began early. As a student at Barbers High School in Mont Belvieu,
She worked on the school yearbook, an experience that helped lead to a job at The Baytown Sun while she attended Lee College. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Lee College before continuing her education at Sam Houston State University, where she graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in journalism and minoring in English.
That same year, on June 10, 1967, Judy married James Drew Parris in Baytown. Their marriage would span 59 years, and a lifetime built around the things Judy valued most: family, home, faith, and the familiar traditions of everyday life. They enjoyed dinners out, visits with family, and trips to places such as Colorado Springs, Branson Missouri, and the Smoky Mountains.
