Happy Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week! 🍽️

This week, we’re celebrating the dedicated foodservice professionals who help nourish and care for our Bluegrass PACE Care participants every day. A special thank you to Shannon Baker and Mary Daugherty, our Dietary Aides, for serving delicious, nutritious meals with care and compassion.

We’re also grateful for Michelle Kassis, our Registered Dietitian, who leads our Nutrition-at-Risk program and provides excellent nutritional care to support the health and well-being of our participants.

We also want to recognize Molly Robinson, our Nutrition Services Manager, for her leadership and dedication in coordinating nutrition services and supporting the team’s commitment to quality care.

And we have even more to celebrate; our team earned another perfect score of 100 on our Health Department inspection last week! 🥳

Children and teens grieve in their own ways — and sometimes, having a gentle space to remember can make all the difference. 💙

In recognition of Children’s Grief Awareness Day, families are invited to stop by our open house to honor loved ones who have died through meaningful, family-friendly activities. Guests can create a craft, paint a remembrance rock, add it to our garden in honor of someone special, or take it home as a keepsake. Supportive resources and conversation will also be available for grieving children and families.

We would like to invite you to a Holiday Grief Workshop at our Lexington office on Tuesday, November 10th. The holidays can be tough for those that have lost a loved one, but you don’t have to go through grief alone. 💙

Two sessions will be offered—please only choose one to attend. Pre-registration is required. Call our grief team at 855.492.0812 to register now.

On Thursday, October 22, we will be hosting an Empowered Women, Families & Caregivers Summit that is free and open to the community. This summit will offer practical information and resources on caregiving, healthy aging, financial preparedness, Medicare and Medicaid and navigating serious illness, along with a community Resource Fair.

Bluegrass Care Navigators president Jamie Moen and Everent CEO David Cook recently participated in the Washington Leadership Conference, joining hospice and palliative care leaders from across the country on Capitol Hill.

These conversations help ensure the voices of patients, families, caregivers, and providers are heard as important healthcare decisions are made.
