Hope Center
HOPE STARTS HERE. The Hope Center is Lexington’s leading resource for recovery, shelter, housing, and support. That’s true, but it’s so much more.
We serve those facing addiction, homelessness, and crisis with dignity and hope. Since 1993, the Hope Center’s mission has been to care for those experiencing homelessness, substance use disorder, and mental illness by providing life-sustaining and life-rebuilding services that are comprehensive and address underlying causes. The Hope Center is widely known as a homeless shelter. It’s not enough t

You don't have to work at The Hope Center to change a life. 💙
Every day, our volunteers help make hope possible.
Whether you're serving a meal in Jacob's Hope Cafeteria, organizing donations, preparing sandwiches for HopeMobile and Street Outreach, helping with yard work or facility projects, leading a life skills class, mentoring someone in recovery, supporting our veterans, or volunteering at a special event, your time has the power to make a lasting impact.
No matter your schedule, skills, or experience, there's a place for you to serve. Every volunteer helps create a stronger, more compassionate community for the individuals and families we walk alongside each day.

Care and compassion are powerful tools for healing.
At The Hope Center, we believe true healing happens when the whole person is supported. Many individuals who come through our doors are facing a combination of challenges like homelessness, addiction, mental health concerns, or barriers to stability. Addressing these needs requires more than one service. It requires care that recognizes the full story of each person.
Through shelter, recovery programs, supportive housing, and connections to critical services, we help individuals stabilize their lives and begin the process of rebuilding. When people are surrounded by compassion, structure, and consistent support, they gain the opportunity to focus on healing and long-term independence.
Caring for the whole person means meeting immediate needs while also creating pathways toward lasting hope, stability, and renewed purpose.

A huge thank you to the University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball team for spending time with our One Parent Scholar Program incredible kiddos and their parents!
From smiles and laughs to meaningful moments together, your time with our families meant so much. These are the kinds of experiences that create memories our families will carry with them for years to come. 💙
We are so grateful for the generosity, kindness, and joy you brought to our families. Thank you for showing up, connecting with our kids, and making a difference beyond the basketball court.

When people think about supporting The Hope Center, they often think about making a financial donation.
Those gifts are incredibly important and help make everything we do possible, but there are so many other ways to make a difference.
You can serve a meal in Jacob's Hope Cafeteria. You can volunteer at a special event. You can donate clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, or Christmas gifts. You can share your expertise through a workshop or training. You can help us reach people through street outreach. You can even provide employment opportunities that help someone rebuild their life.
Every person has something to give. Every act of service helps create pathways to hope, healing, recovery, housing, and stability.
The Hope Center is more than a shelter. Our mission is made possible by a community that shows up in countless ways to support our neighbors.
As you swipe through this carousel, we hope you'll discover a way to get involved that feels meaningful to you.
💙 Because changing lives is about more than a donation.

One conversation. One decision. One new beginning. For Sonny, reaching out to The Hope Center became the first step toward a life filled with hope, healing, and purpose.
His story is a reminder that asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, it's a courageous step toward a better future. Sometimes, all it takes is the willingness to reach out.
If you're wondering whether to ask for support, Sonny has a simple message: don't wait. There are people who care, resources that can help, and a community ready to walk alongside you every step of the way.
Here at The Hope Center, you're more than your past. You're more than your struggles. You are valued, and you deserve the opportunity to build a brighter future.
If you or someone you know is facing a difficult season, reach out to The Hope Center today. Hope begins with taking that first step.

Community in action. 🧡
Orangetheory Fitness wrapped up its month-long fundraiser for The Hope Center with a sold-out class and raised more than $4,000 to support individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, and other challenges.
We are so grateful to Orangetheory and its members for showing what happens when people come together with purpose, generosity, and heart.
Together, we can create lasting hope.

Everyone deserves a second chance.
At The Hope Center, we see second chances become recovery. We see them become housing, employment, education, stronger families, and lasting stability. Most importantly, we see them become hope.
Every person who walks through our doors has a story. While their journey may have included challenges, setbacks, or hardship, it does not have to end there.
Because a second chance isn't just about where someone has been. It's about where they're going.
💙 Swipe to see what a second chance can become.
When you give to The Hope Center, you're doing more than making a donation, you're investing in hope.
Your generosity helps provide safe shelter, nourishing meals, recovery programs, workforce development, family support, and life-changing resources for individuals working toward a brighter future.
Every dollar stays at work, helping people overcome obstacles, rebuild their lives, and discover what's possible with the right support.
Thank you for being part of the impact. Together, we're transforming lives and strengthening our community!

Looking for an easy way to support The Hope Center while also treating yourself (or someone else)?
Through the GiveBHG program, you can purchase gift cards from Bluegrass Hospitality Group and designate The Hope Center as your nonprofit of choice. BHG will donate 20% of the gift card value directly to support our mission.
That means your next dinner at Malone's, Drake's, Harry's, OBC Kitchen, or a gift card for a friend can help provide shelter, recovery services, housing support, outreach, mental health services, and pathways to stability for those we serve every day.
We are incredibly grateful for community partners like Bluegrass Hospitality Group, whose ongoing support continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.
