Happy ❄️ days! Hope you have a stockpile of books to keep you warm, and if not, there's always Sora or Libby! Start reading and tracking those books because PLD library is back with the 25 in '25 challenge! Read 25 books this year, track them, and let Mrs. Faris know when you're done! Prizes for all who finish, but the first student and staff finisher get a $25 gift card! (Physical tracking sheets available in the library, or you can use Storygraph or Goodreads). We had 23 staff members and 12 students finish the 24 in '24 Challenge! Way to read, Bulldogs!

PLD Library was so excited to host PLD Alumni today as FCPS presented her with the Andy Beshear Distinguished Alumni Award to celebrate her accomplishments as world renowned fencer! Lee is a four-time-Olympian, three-time gold medalist, and the most decorated female American foil fencer of all time, and we are so proud of her accomplishments and grateful for her sharing her time with us this morning. 🥇 🤺

Full circle moment: when your former student (and Dunbar Alumni) is a 3x published author who comes to share her knowledge of writing & the publishing world and her love for YA romance with budding student authors and voracious romance readers at the PLD Library! Thanks for visiting, Kaitlyn, and for all the laughs. So proud of you! (Peep her bulldog shirt--she is truly all in on 1600!) Check out her newest YA book, Wild About You, an enemies to lovers romance that takes place during a camping/hiking reality show competition, and her other books: Not Here to Stay Friends and Love From Scratch, all available in the PLD Library and at local bookstores like Joseph Beth. 💜 📖 ✍️ 🐶

Happy Halloween from PLD Library! We loved seeing the students' costumes, having Mitchell's class decorate the display window with an ofrenda table for Dias des los Mu***os, and hosting Piano 1 and 2 classes for their Halloween recitals! 🎃 👻 🧟 🎹

Recently, we've had several staff and students complete their 24 books in 2024 reading challenge, and we are so excited that PLD cultivates a culture of reading and values literacy! You still have through December to complete your 24 books. See Mrs. Faris or Mrs. Jackson in the library for a sheet to track your reads, or use an app like Storygraph or Goodreads. Everyone who finishes gets a small prize (and bragging rights!)
