As the decline of the bee population continues, the much maligned wasp is poised in the wings as the New Bee of 2025. If you haven’t heard about Wasp Lives Matter, well… it’s because I just coined it.

But I think this could really gain some traction.

Bees Aren’t the Only Pollinators! (Wasp Lives Matter!)

Have you ever wondered why things feel so heavy and hard, like they just shouldn’t be that way? I used to fight so hard against life sometimes, convinced that if I just tried harder, controlled more, or willed things to be different, they would finally fall into place. But the more I resisted, the harder everything became. It wasn’t until life handed me no choice—through exhaustion, heartbreak, and sheer frustration—that I realized the real problem wasn’t the situation itself, but my resistance to it.

Let it be. Those words, once just lyrics in a song I loved as a child, became a lifeline. When I stopped trying to force every outcome, when I accepted what was instead of clinging to what I thought it should be, I finally felt a sense of peace. Not because everything was perfect, but because I was no longer at war with reality. Maybe the real wisdom isn’t in fixing, forcing, or figuring it all out—but in learning to trust that even in the chaos, things are unfolding exactly as they should.

After many clunky starts, much akin to getting on a bicycle after what seems like forever, my creative dry spell has suddenly found itself at an end. And after many years laying dormant, I decided to migrate my old blogs to a new home. After hours upon hours of spelunking through the past, so many iterations ago that it seems in some ways like another lifetime entirely (except that I have the scars and grey hairs to prove otherwise), I was happy to be able to find them so that they may be woven through the Now to give them new life and context.

For those just beginning their journeys navigating parenthood to those who find themselves, impossibly, on the other side of it and navigating an entirely new journey, I hope that these somehow A) brighten your day, B) hit your soul in just the way you needed in the moment, C) help shift your perspective to find a place of greater peace walking this human journey or D) all of the above.

As many of you know, I have been writing in some form or fashion for as long as I have known how to form words. It has been a long time since I blogged last of my journey (many of you may remember my tales of parenting woes, lol). It is time again to find my muse and share my story, in the hopes that it might connect with someone who needs to hear it.
