Meant to post this a while back. Our first sunflower to bloom this season. Love the striking colors. Waldo, the Cucumber Beetle(?) even adds a little flair.

Kristian's 5th great grandfather was Capt. Nathaniel Hart Sr., a founding father of Kentucky.
To make way for a developing Lexington, in the 1940's her grandfather moved his family from their generational home in the "Hartland" / Delong Rd. area of Fayette Co. to a new farm on Bryan Station Rd. in Bourbon Co.. This is where Kristian's mother, Mary Ann, was raised with seven of her siblings. Following the passing of Kristian's grandfather the property was acquired and is now a part of Rosemont Farm.
Mary Ann and her husband, Jerry, raised their family on Mariemont Dr. in Lexington where he still lives. Kristian has an aunt and a cousin living on farms, also on Bryan Station Rd..
