Day 3- SATTE India

Leh Tourist Destination Series #10 Pangong Lake, World’s highest saline water lake. It is a delight to the viewer’s eye, with its illusionizing colour changing water. Despite being salt water lake, it freezes completely during winters and still is as beautiful as it is in summers. One can visit this on a day’s trip to and fro Leh city or as a detour from Nubra Valley. An inner line permit is required to see this enchanting beauty.

Leh Tourist Destination Series #9 Tsemo Gompa. Founded in 1430 by King Tashi Namgyal of Ladakh, the Namgyal Tsemo Monastery, more popularly known as the Tsemo Gompa, is located on a high feature, giving a beautiful glimpse of the the Leh city and flowing rivers. It houses a three storied Buddha statue, and also showcases an abundance of rich Buddhist manuscripts and decorated paintings.

Leh Tourist Destinations Series #8, Nubra valley, a high altitude cold desert with unsurpassed naked beauty. The only place in Ladakh which gives a glimpse of snow clad mountains encompassing green pastures. Visit the place for a feel of cold desert sand dunes, and also to enjoy ride on double hump camel.

Leh Tourist Destination Series #5, Hall of Fame. Built and being maintained by the Indian Army, this museum commemorates the valour of Indian soldiers during the various indo-pak wars. The museum contains segments dedicated to the various war eras including the Kargil War. In the evening, it also hosts a light and sound show, giving us the glimpse of fierce battle fought during Operation Vijay.

Leh Tourist Destination Series #4 Diskit Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in Leh Ladakh. Housing in the Nubra Valley, and built in the 14th century, it is also one of the oldest monasteries belonging to the Gelupa sect of Tibetan Buddhism
