Donate your unwanted classroom supplies to new teachers. LEA will be collecting supplies for new teachers. The supplies will be given away during new employee orientation in August.

The process is really simple, just box up anything a new teacher could use--including books, and pony to:
* Riverside HS – LEA Supplies
* Label books by grade level
* Pack lightly for pony deliveries

We have had tremendous participation in the past and our new teachers have been overjoyed to load up on these free classroom supplies.

From NEA president Becky Pringle:

Right now, Congress is pushing a budget reconciliation bill that would devastate our schools and communities, all to fund massive tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. If they succeed, the domino effects won’t just be harmful—they’ll be catastrophic. Millions will lose health care when Medicaid is gutted. Children will go hungry when school meals programs are slashed. Counselors and nurses will disappear from our schools. Students will lose access to an affordable and accessible higher education.

This is urgent. This will have a drastic impact on your community. Send a letter to tell your representatives to vote NO on the budget reconciliation bill.

Write Your Representative ➤

This isn’t just budget math. It’s a blueprint for long-term collapse: sick children, hungry students, broken futures—and a society that pays the price for generations.

Hundreds of billions of dollars hang in the balance—funding that keeps our children fed, supports their health care, and gives them access to the strong public education system that they deserve. And at the same time, they propose the first national private school voucher scheme that will siphon taxpayer money from our neighborhood public schools.

Tell Congress that they cannot take this funding away from our children. Write to your representative now.

Now is the time to raise your voice for students—they’re counting on you.

In solidarity,

Becky Pringle
