Tracie Lane’s creative school board comments. Let’s get to work!

‘Twas the week before Winter Break, with educators in this house.
The bargaining units were stirring, hoping the agreement would be deloused.
Collective Bargaining had been worked for with care
In hopes that the school board would be fair
With enthusiasm for a bright future in our heads
And visions of that seat at the table having us wearing red
Me in my cap
I realized this was not the time to nap
This agreement has made a clatter
I’m here to tell you students and educators matter
Toss the expiration dates in the trash
Don’t make collective bargaining about cash
This agreement is a shame
I’m here to call on you by name
Now Serotkin, Now Mahedevi, Now Corbo, and Reaser!
On Poifko, on Beatty, on Ogedegbe and Sheridan
We are not here for a brawl
Please don’t make us crawl
Don’t let collective bargaining die
Together, let’s aspire for the sky
Let educators sit with your crew
Don’t limit working conditions to a mere two
As you know, my working conditions
Are the children’s learning condition
Our schools and educators are hard put
Don’t tarnish LCPS with more ashes and soot
Let’s have a word and get to work
Include educators, we’re the experts
I implore you to put aside this blight.
Collective bargaining for all, let’s have a great night.

The problem with the presentation to the school board developed by LCPS is that it does NOT contain the truth. The Board has only seen bad information developed by a lawyer who wants to line the pockets on the backs of tax payers. They do not care about LOUDOUN!

11/29/2023

We started our card campaign in August of 2021. LCPS has dragged out this process.

PWCS has paid the same anti-worker lawyer over $231,000 since they started their process. LCPS has paid them almost $14,000 so far.

Why not discuss with employees? Bring us to the table! We have answers!

11/29/2023

LEA presented in June. LCPS was ALREADY meeting with an anti-worker lawyer since April. They did not come to the table in good faith. We shared our entire draft with every school board member from
the beginning. Our draft was NOT used.

11/29/2023

The school board is beginning to discuss collective bargaining. Thank you to all those who came out to stand with us. A big thank to our VEA President, Dr. James Fedderman, VEA VP Carol Bauer, NEA Director Gwen Edwards, our elected officials, and so many wonderful community supporters. Our work is just beginning. Stand tall.
