The southbound lanes of Rt. 28 near Sterling Boulevard are closed as fire-rescue crews work on the scene of a tractor-trailer crash. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.

Members of L3756 escorted the family of Brother Jeffrey Rizzo to IAFF Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Colorado Springs this week. Brother Rizzo was added to the wall of the fallen this year.

Crews from Aldie 607, Kirkpatrick Farms 627, and Prince William Professional Firefighters Evergreen 515, and PHI Air Medical Leesburg operating on a MVA with a flyout on Rt 15 and New Rd earlier this afternoon.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Louisa County career firefighter, Mia Ethridge. We ask our citizens to join us in remembering Mia for her bravery and heroism. She and her family will remain in the thoughts and prayers of not only the Fire & EMS department, but the heart of our community as a whole.

September 2nd-4th we will be filling the boot for the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association fund drive. Firefighters throughout the region will be out in the streets collecting for MDA.
All funds raised will assist local families affected by Muscular Dystrophy.

Structure Fire - 41000 block of Hoddesdon Ct., Aldie, Box 62718 - PE627 was on scene with fire contained to the garage which appeared to have been caused by a Lithium-ion battery charger.

Loudoun crews have been visiting with the National Capitol Region Airports Professional Firefighters at Dulles Airport for area familiarization drills over the past few months. We have automatic mutual aid with MWAA where we operate with them at the airport for emergency incidents and they can come off and operate in Loudoun and Fairfax for our incidents.

This morning R635 from Sterling conducted tower rescue training along with Prince William County Rescue 522. Units trained on tower hazards, access/climbing techniques, tower-based rescues, and ground-based rescues. Both companies were able to compare equipment and rescue methods; ensuring cohesive operations as these units will be operating together on technical rescue incidents in the southern part of the county.

Units from Loudoun, Prince William Professional Firefighters , National Capitol Region Airports Professional Firefighters, and Fairfax County Professional Firefighters & Paramedics responded to a house fire on the 25000 block of Cameron Walk Place in Aldie, Box 62720 last night. PE627 arrived on scene with fire from the roof due to a lightning strike. The fire was quickly knocked down with most of the fire contained to the garage attic.

Members taking advantage of some new quads being built by practicing 'what if the Tanker and Medic show up first' scenarios. LCFR Tankers carry 3,000 gallons of water and have 1500 GPM pumps with 2 crosslays.
