Lebanon First Assembly

One of the best parts of a mission trip is the people you meet! We get to see these people each year and meet their families, and work with their children. They have also made our time there feel like home away from home. Usually, about halfway through, our team is already thinking about going back the next year. A piece of our hearts is truly with Open Arms.

Another part of our Missions Trip to Open Arms Mexico is providing a VBS for the kids who are at the campus for school and daycare where we are serving. We have so much fun getting to know the kids and their teachers. We take four days and do the same VBS that we do at LFA, all translated into Spanish.

Over the years, we have seen some of these children grow from the nursery to being with us now in VBS. It is also a time to serve the staff of Open Arms that works everyday they are open to be there for the kids. Providing them a safe space to be while their parents are at work. After all, Open Arms is all about “Keeping Families Together”!

So what happens on our LFA Mission Trips to Open Arms Mexico...

One of the things our teams work on is building, maintenance, and repair projects. We work alongside Open Arms to build something new like a cafe or trusses, or rebuild a deck that needs some attention. It has been amazing to revisit these places year to year and see the impact these projects make in the local communities.

We have enjoyed sharing with you this week about Sundays's Water Baptism. From the smiles and happy tears this is a wonderful time of celebration!

💦 At LFA everyone gets an opportunity to witness Water Baptism.

📺 Having live streamed services isn't just for people who cannot join us in person. We also use it for our LFA Kids so they can join in for Sunday Service from time to time. Sunday three of our LFA Kids in the nursery had parents being baptized. So we made sure to turn on the livestream during Water Baptism for them. We are thankful we could share in this special moment with them.

Together We Can: Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Your Purpose, Make a Difference

One part of Water Baptism, at LFA, includes each person sharing their personal testimony. Sharing a personal testimony can come with all sorts of emotions and isn't always the easiest thing to do. Especially if you're not used to being in front of a crowd. It was an honor for them to share their testimonies with us.
