How embarrassing is this....I used to have memories of how cool was my first website ever, back in 1997. Then I found the Internet Wayback machine and got see what it really looked like. Ouch! This was so way back that there was almost no e-commerce--I found a hosting server in Nebraska that would fax me people's credit card numbers they entered into my website to pay.

Fabulous article but ironic that the author was Product Philosopher at Google, the undisputed master of mind manipulation and coercion, and he doesn't mention Google's products and tactics in his examples much (maybe he can't since he just left the company).
