Statement from J. Gordon Mitchell on Primary Election Results:

To every supporter of Team Mitchell, I want to personally thank you for everything you’ve done to support our campaign. While the results didn’t turn out the way we had hoped, I am so proud of what we accomplished together.

From the very beginning, our campaign was about more than just winning an election—it was about showing up, doing the work, maintaining integrity, and being accountable to the people of TX-17. And because of you, we built a movement that inspired thousands, put critical issues on the table, and made an undeniable impact on our community.

Although this chapter has come to a close, the work doesn’t stop here. Our fight for accountability, hard work, integrity in politics, and real solutions continues, and I remain committed to standing alongside you to make a difference. The stakes are higher than ever for democracy, and I invite you to stay in this fight to elect Democratic candidates up and down the ballot this November.

To everyone who knocked on doors, made phone calls, donated, shared our message, or supported this effort in any way: Thank you. Your belief in our vision and your willingness to take action has been nothing short of extraordinary.

While this wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, I believe in the strength of this community and the power of what we can accomplish together. We may not have won this race, but together, we’ve laid the groundwork for a brighter future.

Thank you again for your trust, your support, and your determination to fight for what’s right. I’m so honored to have had the opportunity to run this campaign alongside you.
