Chicken processing weekend is in the books! 🙌
It was a long day of hard work, from the killing cones and scalding tanks to plucking, evisceration, cutups, and packaging. By the end of the day, our crew had processed 140 chickens from pasture to freezer.
This is the part of farming most folks don’t see, but it’s an important part of raising healthy, local food. It takes a lot of hands, a lot of teamwork, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done. 💪
We’re incredibly grateful for all our faithful crew of volunteers who came out and put in the work. Days like these remind us that farming is never one-person job—it’s a community effort.
Thank you all for helping feed our neighbors and supporting local agriculture! ❤️🐔
Ready to taste the difference local makes? Shop our pasture-raised chicken: Order at www.stubbsfarmatx.com, and get a FREE dozen eggs 🍳 when you spend $50 or more on chicken (roughly about four items/4 lbs)!

Meet the face behind Stubbs Farm—TJ Stubbs.
In a world where food often comes from somewhere far away, we think there’s real power in knowing there’s a real person—and a real family—behind what ends up on your table 🍽️
We’re not a big corporation. We’re your local farmer. 🧑🌾
Every day, we care for our flock, move our mobile coops to fresh pasture 🌱, and work to raise chickens in a way that benefits both the birds and the land. It’s hands-on work, but it’s work we’re proud to do 💪
There’s something special about knowing where your food comes from and having a connection to the people who raise it. We’re grateful for every customer who chooses to support a local family farm and trusts us to help feed their family.
Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting local farming.

If you’ve ever cracked an egg and wondered why the yolk looks pale… or served chicken that tasted like nothing… you’re not imagining it.
Food should taste better.
At Stubbs Farm, our chickens roam fresh pasture daily and eat a clean, corn‑free, soy‑free diet—so your family gets eggs and poultry that are naturally rich, vibrant, and full of flavor.
This is what real food tastes like. 💛 Picture of one of our chickens before it goes in the oven 😋

Our Golden Comets are officially in their egg era. 🥚✨ A few of these are their adorable “first eggs” (read: a little on the petite side), but they’ll size up as the girls find their rhythm.
Our pasture-raised chickens are fed a non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free diet, which helps produce eggs with a better omega balance. What does that mean? Most store-bought eggs come from chickens fed corn and soy—cheap, but high in omega-6s. Corn and soy-free eggs have significantly lower omega-6 levels, which helps support a healthier fat profile—something your heart and brain will thank you for!

Last weekend we processed 55 chickens on the farm with friends. From start to finish, we were in control of how our birds were raised, what they were fed, and how they were processed. Our biggest bad boy was 8lbs!
Our next processing date is April 11. If you’re interested in spending a day on the farm learning about how to process chickens from start to finish, send us a DM. You’ll go home with a processed chicken and the confidence to do it yourself. No experience required, just a happy heart to help!
