Happy hump day! Do you need a leg up?

Headshot photography on the surface may seem simple and straightforward, but in actuality it is an art form that requires a high level of detail and connection with your subject/photographer. Because the focus is only on the face, we must be keen to micro expressions. The eyes tell the story.

I always look for genuine eyes. As the photographer, it is my job to make you feel comfortable enough in front of the camera, so I can capture the real you.

Some important qualities that you should look for in a headshot photographer are

1) ability to establish good rapport quickly
2) understands your point of view or personality
3) understands your audience or market
4) sensitive to concerns you may have about your face
5) can create a unique and flattering style through lighting, colors, textures, and authentic expressions
6) really fun and open to new ideas.

Those are just a few things to keep in mind as you're searching for the right photographer for you. I know it can feel incredibly intimidating and vulnerable in front of a camera. It takes a bit of courage to put your face out there for all to see and judge, but it can be a fun experience to just let go and trust that the photographer you've chosen has your back, or face. You look fabulous, darling! Don't you forget.

Happy Thanksgiving! This little guy is much older now, but boy is he lucky to have such a beautiful, loving, and hard working mommy!

I never get tired of photographing this little lady, although she's not so little anymore!

This is what I call tickle face. Step 1. Tickle subject with your left hand.
Step 2. Quickly bring your camera up to your face, focus, and click.
Step 3. Repeat above steps until you get the shot.
