🍕❤️ Today some of our warriors, survivors, and siblings enjoyed a hands-on pizza-making experience at our Center with the talented team from 550 Pizzeria!

For families impacted by childhood cancer, events like these provide connection, laughter, and a chance to make special memories together while surrounded by others who understand the journey.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and donors, we’re able to bring unique experiences like this to the families we serve.

🍕👨🏻‍🍳 Pizza Day at the Center!

Today, our kids put on their aprons and chef hats and created their very own pizzas, and they turned out delicious! A big thank you to Janet and the team at 550 Pizzeria for leading this fun experience.

And yes, our Executive Director Ray made his own pizza too!

Just one of many fun summer activities still to come for our families.

💛 Thank You, Danna Muñoz! 💛

A special thank you to Danna Muñoz, a track and volleyball athlete and outstanding student at Dr. Leo G. Cigarroa High School, for organizing a snack drive for Smiles From Heaven / Fight Like a Kid!

Danna handmade flyers and rallied support at her track camp to collect snacks for the children and families we serve. Her kindness and leadership are an inspiration.

Thank you to all the students and families who donated! With a busy summer ahead, these snacks will be a blessing to our warriors and their families.

Young people like Danna remind us that the future is bright!

Why, in a city of over 260,000 people, must our children travel hundreds of miles for treatment?

This question was recently highlighted in a Laredo Morning Times article discussing efforts to expand pediatric specialty care in our community.

For many local families facing childhood cancer and blood disorders, that's still the reality.

We're encouraged to see continued conversations around bringing specialized pediatric care closer to home and remain committed to being part of the solution.

Every child deserves a fighting chance.

🎓❤️ Congratulations, Natalie! ❤️🎓

Today, we had the honor of presenting a $1,000 scholarship to one of our incredible warriors as she celebrates her graduation from Raymond & Tirza Martin High School.

Watching her overcome challenges, work hard, and reach this milestone has been a true blessing. We are so proud of the young woman she has become and excited to see where God leads her next.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11

As you begin this next chapter, know that you will always have a family here at Smiles From Heaven and Fight Like a Kid. We love you, we believe in you, and we are cheering you on every step of the way!

Congratulations, Natalie. Your future is bright, and we can't wait to see all that you accomplish.

🎓💜 Congratulations, Monse! 💜🎓

We are so happy to celebrate Monse as she graduates this week from Lyndon B. Johnson High School!

As the big sister of one of our warriors, Monse has shown compassion and a heart for others. We are especially excited that she will be pursuing higher education in nursing and using those gifts to help and care for others.

We wish Monse and her family all the best as she begins this exciting new chapter.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

Congratulations, Monse! We are proud of you!

😂🍽️ “She wasn’t finished!!!”

We pranked Michelle during Sammie’s birthday lunch and secretly got the waiter in on it. Right in the middle of her eating… he came and took her plate away. 💀🤣

Shoutout to the waiter for helping us pull it off. Never a dull moment with this team!
