Our Mission: To preserve and protect the Rio Grande-Rio Bravo, its watershed and environment, through awareness, advocacy, research, education, stewardship and bi-national collaboration for the benefit of present and future generations. RGISC is a 501c3 nonprofit established in Laredo, TX in 1994 to preserve and protect the Rio Grande-Rio Bravo through awareness, research, education, advocacy, and bi-national alliances.

Our Laredo ISD students traded the classroom for the great outdoors during our Spring Trip Excursions! From elementary to high school, we couldn’t be prouder of how these kids explored, learned, and represented LISD.

Yesterday we experienced a beautiful gathering at the Rec Center in the La Ladrillera neighborhood as part of Comparte Laredo, where art became a bridge for connection and well-being. 🎨🧑🎨
Artist Melly Rodriguez led an inspiring workshop on painting with natural pigments and plants, giving seniors the opportunity to explore, create, and express themselves through color in a unique and meaningful way.
These spaces remind us of the value of community art and its power to strengthen bonds, awaken memories, and encourage creativity at every stage of life.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this experience possible.

Ayer vivimos un hermoso encuentro en el Centro Recreativo del barrio La Ladrillera, como parte de *Comparte Laredo*, donde el arte se convirtió en un puente para la conexión y el bienestar.
La artista Melly Rodríguez dirigió un inspirador taller de pintura con pigmentos naturales y plantas, brindando a las personas mayores la oportunidad de explorar, crear y expresarse a través del color de una manera única y significativa.
Estos espacios nos recuerdan el valor del arte comunitario y su poder para fortalecer vínculos, despertar recuerdos y fomentar la creatividad en cada etapa de la vida.

Our 5th-grade students joined Mr. Quezada for a memorable outdoor experience at Las Palmas Nature Trail 🥾✨
A day filled with exploration, teamwork, fresh air, and learning beyond the classroom as students connected with nature in a meaningful way. 🌎💚
