CWS - Lancaster Immigration & Refugee Program

🎨 Tonight’s the night! We’re excited to celebrate Lancaster’s young artists at the art auction the Ware Center!

Each year, children and youth ages 3–18 donate their artwork to be auctioned in support of local nonprofits, including and , turning their creativity into meaningful community impact.

Lancaster’s own will be onsite with ice cream at the Art Show. Local artist, poet, and performer will be drawing and gifting Essence Portraits throughout the evening,

We are so grateful to the young artists, families, organizers, and everyone who shows up to make Lancaster a more welcoming and caring community.

Today, many of our neighbors are losing access to health care.

Beginning October 1, many refugees, asylees and other lawfully present immigrants without green cards are losing Medicaid coverage. For some families, this comes after already losing access to SNAP food assistance.

At CWS Lancaster, we’re working alongside impacted families and community partners to help our neighbors understand these changes and find available resources. We've already seen a big increase in visits to our Global Food Pantry over the past two months -- and we anticipate these changes will only increase food and economic insecurity.

Check out CWS' for more information and important updates.

Election day is quickly approaching! For many new American citizens, this may be their first time navigating the U.S. voting process. Join us Tuesday, October 13 for an in-person, nonpartisan training for faith partners, volunteers, and community supporters who want to help eligible voters feel informed, prepared, and confident participating in our democracy.

We’ll be joined by Ariana Ontiveros, Civic Engagement Advisor with who brings decades of experience organizing alongside immigrant and New American communities across the country.

Together, we’ll explore practical ways to support our immigrant and refugee neighbors as Election Day approaches, including what to know, how to help, and how we can show up in meaningful, nonpartisan and faith-rooted ways.

This is a nonpartisan civic education event. CWS does not endorse any candidate or political party.

These boots are headed to a neighbor beginning a new chapter.

Through our Economic Empowerment programs, refugee and immigrant neighbors receive job readiness training, career coaching, and job placement support that connects them with opportunities to thrive.

Earlier this year, two children represented by CWS Lancaster were granted asylum after years of advocacy and legal support. These victories don't happen by chance. They happen because experienced attorneys stand beside children every step of the way.

We have made a promise to the children and families we serve: that they will not have to navigate the immigration system alone. We intend to keep that promise.

Thanks to a generous donor, right now every gift made to our Legal Services Program will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $200,000. Your generosity will help keep experienced attorneys and accredited representatives on staff and ensure that vulnerable immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and
unaccompanied children continue to receive expert legal representation.

Help us shower our clients with love! Please contact Kate Espinosa at [email protected] with any donations!

"It is only natural to love the land of one's birth. To love the land that offers you opportunities and grants you a second citizenship is an act of justice and gratitude."

"With faith, the right support, and perseverance, dreams really can become a reality."

This Citizenship Day, we celebrate the many new Americans who have become U.S. citizens over the past year and the incredible journeys that brought them here.

Today we are highlighting two of our neighbors whose stories reflect hope, determination, and a deep love for our shared country. We're grateful to be part of these moments and proud to support our newest fellow citizens as they turn long-held dreams into reality and remind us what pride looks like.

Federal funding that helped provide legal representation for vulnerable children has ended. But our commitment to the children and families we serve has not.

Today, more than 200 unaccompanied children, some as young as three years old, are counting on CWS Lancaster for the legal support they need to pursue safety and stability.

Thanks to the generosity of the James and Connie Grube Fund, every gift to our Legal Services Program will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $200,000.

Now is the time to act. Double your impact and help ensure no child faces the immigration system alone.

We encourage all eligible voters, CWS supporters, volunteers, and New American citizens to vote in the elections they're eligible for.

CWS Global does not endorse any candidate or political party. We adhere to a strong principle of nonpartisan electoral participation.
