Avmapp Coalition
Preventing and reducing substance use in the AV through policy implementation and community help
As we wrap up this yearβs National Prevention Week, we want to shine a light on the local organizations in SPA 1 that promote prevention, mental health awareness, and have valuable resources year-round. While the week may be coming to an end, prevention is an everyday commitment and it starts with all of us.

Mental health matters every day. π
Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. Prioritizing mental wellness through self-care, healthy coping strategies, stress management, and early support can help prevent emotional struggles from becoming overwhelming.
Awareness and prevention go hand in hand. Checking in with yourself and others, seeking help early, and creating supportive spaces can make a real difference.
You are not alone, and asking for help is a sign of strength.

Prevention starts with community. Substance misuse and domestic violence do not exist in isolation. They are deeply intertwined, with each serving as both a risk factor and a consequence of the other. Addressing these challenges together allows us to build stronger, safer, and healthier communities where survivors can truly heal. Awareness + Action = Prevention. Letβs start the conversation today. For more information or resources visit the National Domestic Violence Hotline.

Today is Substance Prevention Day! As part of our week-long effort to raise awareness and strengthen prevention efforts across our community, weβre highlighting the impact alcohol and other substances can have on our health, relationships, and future. Together, we can encourage healthy choices that support strong minds, healthy bodies, and brighter futures.
Prevention starts with all of us. Take a moment today to have open, honest conversations with your loved ones.
