This is exactly why the Garden Courtyard at Excelsior works so well. The arches pull your eye in. The greenery wraps around them. The space creates the drama without stealing the moment. Golden hour without ever leaving the building? Excelsior, you’re amazing.

Alyssa and Ed were in the middle of dinner when I noticed the sun dropping perfectly between the buildings. Normally, I’m sprinting outside to chase the light, but thanks to the Observation Deck, the sunset came to us.

One quick step outside, a beam of warm light, and a few seconds later, we had one of my favorite portraits of the day.

Beautiful light. Zero disruption to the day. 🙌
